- Starship
- The generic definition of a starship is any vessel which is capable of interstellar travel. This is a broad classification and does not, in principle, require faster-than-light drives.
- The United Federation of Planets classidies starships into a variety of types. These types are divided by size, amament, and role in the fleet. The Bureau of Alien Technology Assessment classifies non-Federation naval vessels by the same classes. Most civilian ship lines do not hold to any particular type designations.
