Federation News Network (FNN)

The Federation News Network (FNN) is a news and information organization operating in the United Federation of Planets, founded in the early 2260s. This is the main site for FNN, and our intergalactic news desk can be reached here: FNN Intergalactic News Desk

Headquartered on Terra (Sol-III) in Hamburg, Germany in the European Union. FNN has regional offices on nearly every Federation member (and protectorate) world, plus bureau desks on most major Star Fleet/SFMC installations. Also FNN operates affiliate stations on many neutral and/or non-aligned interplanetary powers outside the Federation.

Yalru, a distinguished Kelpien of 54 years (FSY) writer and journalist from Kaminar, currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Editorial Director of the Federation News Network (FNN). Appointed on January 30, 2437, he brings a wealth of experience, having previously held numerous senior roles as a news anchor and editor within FNN. Yalru earned 3 premier distinctions in Journalism from the Vulcan Science Academy, the Kaminar Collegium of Thought, and Oxford University on Terra.

FNN delivers journalistic excellence in reporting factual, unbiased news via rolling holo-broadcasts, daily scheduled programs and on-scene reporting from across and beyond the United Federation of Planets.

In ASR, FNN serves a dual purpose of a clearinghouse for updates on all current unit activities, plus a vital source of information used by Star Fleet Public Affairs to advertise and recruit new players.

This concept was initially developed as the Federation News Service (FNS) by Stefan Wiedner, former COMPA and Mike Tripp, Managing Editor of the FNS.
