I am Captain Namara Whitman, and I have the honor of commanding the newly commissioned USS Sagan, a Hipparkhos-class Scientific Explorer Heavy Cruisers, designed for advanced scientific missions in the most remote and challenging sectors of the Federation. With its capacity to support multiple specialized modules, a top-tier scientific crew, and state-of-the-art exploration systems, the Sagan embodies the spirit of discovery that defines Starfleet. Our mission is not just to observe, but to understand the mysteries of the universe with rigor, empathy, and responsibility.
The Hipparkhos-class CA has last generation systems all across the board, from weapons, shields, propulsion and sensors to computers, labs and even shuttle crafts, including an experimental semi-sentient AI Holographic Assistant, version 2, an evolution of those Holoassistants deployed on Wanderlust-class CLs.
The Sagan is part of Task Force Cicatrix, which has been deployed in the Moor, the huge region beyond GOLD Fleet limits at Achernar, an unclaimed--apparently a wasteland--region of space with little interest and just a handful of solar systems, due to the unexpected discovery of what has been nicknamed The Scar, a fissure or cicatrix in the foundation of space-time and subspace. Their mission is to investigate what lies inside and perhaps explain what have happened to the Moor. Task Force Cicatrix is based on SB Finisterrae, and comprised by the USS Sagan and the USS Hawker, NCC-93804, a Cyclops Dragonfly-class CA, one of the most powerful deep space surveyors in the Fleet. The Sagan is the only Role Playing unit at this moment.
