- The distance travelled thrugh a vacuum by electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, in 60 seconds. This distance is equal to 17,987,547,380 meters. At normal impulse cruising speed of 0.25 c, it takes 4 minutes to move one light-minute.
- From a standing start, a Galaxy-class cruiser takes 24.6 minutes to cross a distance of 1 light-minute and achieves a speed of 0.08 c.
