TACFLEET NOTES
WARNING: All information presented here is conjecture based upon data obtained from the combat logs of USS SPITFIRE during Second Tybiiran.
This class of ship is the one most responsible for the destruction of USS SPITFIRE and the near-destruction of LEVIATHAN and RAMSES during Second Tybiiran in 2412. Its design reflects conventional Gorn engineering, with two major exceptions.
Federation warp engines, stolen from Federation ship yards and sold on the black market to the Gorn Hegemony, are present on this vessel, making it faster and more efficient than any other in the Hegemony navy. This increase in overall power has given the ship a much higher power curve than other Hegemony vessels.
This variation, containing Federation warp nacelles, is believed to be of the same variant as the one encountered by USS SPITFIRE on its way to DS13 in January of 2410.
The second major departure form conventional hegemony engineering is to its weaponry- most specifically, the Borg-enhanced neutron blasters. These weapons, modified originally by the Borg-Gorn drones found in the Tybiiran Complex during Second Tybiiran, are capable of outgunning anything of its size; indeed, a swarm of 5 of this variant handled themselves admirably against a Star Fleet battlecruiser, heavy cruiser and a THUNDERBOLT. The output of these enhanced weapons systems is believed to be somewhere in the vicinity of a 50-60% improvement over the conventional GBL-6 models.
The exact number of RAPTORS produced is unknown. In the end, DS13 and OSFI operatives uncovered that a total of about 3 dozen Federation-design warp drives and reactors of varying types were missing from the inventories of several ship yards. This makes ascertaining the number of RAPTOS constructed difficult- there may be several variants of this design, each employing a different Federation (or even Gorn-design) power plant.
The weapons systems are a different matter; while the warp drive systems employed by Star Fleet are of a different technology than those commonly used by the Gorn, the weapons modified by the Borg are simply enhanced versions of the same technology. Therefore, OSFI has concluded that this weapon can be reproduced by Hegemony engineers at this time.
