B. Background Summary:
Shay is the youngest of four siblings. While she has always been on good terms with all of them, it’s his biological brother, Maakil, who she’s really close to. While the relationship with her brother in law Sebastiao is ok in human terms, her relationship with her oldest sister in law has never been good other than a good facade to content their parents.
She inherited the physical attractiveness of the Orion race from her mom, something she wasn’t fully comfortable with since it made her a target for all kinds of jokes and roasts during her school years. It also marked her and forged a strong will of help/protection of others.
She didn’t have a lot of friends but a couple of really good ones who she could be herself with. One of them was her old neighbor, who used to be a transport pilot in Starfleet. They would spend hours together talking about the galaxy and everything he had seen through his service. Her time with him marked and settled her mind into joining the Starfleet as soon as she could.
C. Personality Summary:
She’s gentle, approachable and a great carer. She will stop by and have time for everyone without exception, but will excuse herself and run away whenever a political topic is brought up, a topic she really detest… try History instead.
She’s a great listener and loves helping people out with almost any problem they might be going through.
While she’s easy to approach it’s very hard to befriend her, especially if she ever feels being flirted on. However, once she considers you a friend it will last forever.

Cadet Shaylunna appears as a very centered young person, with a very strong sense of justice and the willingness to act in defense of her beliefs.
This behavior lowered her marks but gained her a commendation, as she abandoned her results during a survival practice course and proceeded to aid an injured student, carrying to safety after treating his injuries with rudimentary tooling rigged in situ. She demonstrated an unusual fortitude and determination even when faced with a very competitive system.
This solid moral compass and strength of character are the basis for a trusted future officer and I am sure she will be able to accomplish great things in her future.

Generally speaking, Shaylunaa is good at speaking Standard language although she has typical mistakes influenced by Portuguese, her dad’s native language. Some of the most frequent mistakes she makes are:
- Confusion with prepositions: IN (ON), AT (IN) and ON (IN)
- Confusion with nouns: JOB (WORK) and TRIP (TRAVEL)
- Overuse of “to arrive” instead of “to get”
- -ED sound as a separate sound within the word (shocked -> shock-ed)
- -T words sound like -Y instead of “tuh” sound (court -> courty)
