RT2410- CINCSF Report

From StarFleet Bureau of Information

CINCSF's REPORT

Dear Delegates, fellow players:

This has been an exciting semester. Despite the holidays and new school year typical slowdowns, all three units have managed to move ahead their respective plots, which are quite interesting and dramatic! We have also seen some development in the Free Threads, which is exciting. Still, the posting rate was quite low, although it's rising now. I would like to send my big thanks to the command teams of the units and encourage them to keep posting at a good rate so the rest of the crew gets into a healthier dynamic. I'm quite optimistic on this matter.

We have seen the official release of 16 new starship classes, from battlecruisers to frigate escorts with lots of explorers and support vessels in all sizes and forms, with some new designs and many familiar shapes, from previous generations and the latest and more modern TV shows. They were posted to Facebook and X and got some attention and interactions, although not as much as we'd had liked. In any case, we hope this will spark some interest and get our tech in line and ahead of what any new player might be used to.

This release of starship classes is translated in the creation of 290 new ships (156 are in construction now and the rest in one or two phases, depending on the class, they'll be released in batches of two or three every month, more o less; there are some missing ships that will be added on an as-needed basis) that you can check on the Registry Numbers page, including a few new ships on existing classes and the 8 new GOTO-class Starships, that have their own--admittedly very Spartan for the time being--page. We will be slowly adding plaques and biographies and stuff to our Honor Players page.

This means that starting now, players can start incorporating ships from the newer classes into their RP. Please clear with COMSFE any destruction, to have the right tally and update the Registry Numbers page, and try not to break too many, they are all fairly new! :-) A gentle reminder, though, ZEUS and GOTO class ships are PNPC ships and their use in any story must be approved by Starfleet command.

As for the other fronts, we are working on a recruitment campaign that is going slower than planned. We have some preliminary work done, but we want to expand it and provide some audiovisuals, like youtube videos and such. We hope to have something in the near future. We have two target groups, veteran players and new players from outside. We created a special interest group for recruiting that's not have activity for the time being, but I hope it'll grow in the next months, and we have a couple of new ideas waiting for the right time to be implemented, because they require more manpower, to be honest.

I am planning on resuming the social media reports of activity to keep our prospective readers interested and to show we are playing and having fun every day, so they can join us... :-)

And that's all, a semester of contrasts. We have seeded some ideas and now is time to nurture them to full blown creations.

This concludes this report.

Respectfully submitted,
David S. de Lis, CINCSF and Chair
