RT2210- CINCSF Report
From StarFleet Bureau of Information
CINCSF's Report
Dear delegates and fellow players, These last six months have been challenging but rewarding. We have, as of now, three active units, which is very good news. The RANGER has been performing as usual, with an increasing number of JPs, which take down the posting tally but make for very rich posts and storytelling. SB SERENITY has maintained its storytelling and has been reinforced so it can keep up the great work. Finally, the YORKTOWN-F, a Fearless-class Heavy Cruiser, has been launched to reinforce Task Force Serenity, she will undoubtedly prove to be a very important asset in the AO. The start has been slow but we have good hopes for her, under the command of Tim and Chris. If anyone is interested, there's a number of open positions... :-) From last April RT, I can report that some actions have been taken, including the Summaries and we have started to post to Twitter, just the teaser for the current mission on each unit, and will start posting every... well, post, as well as on Facebook. It's taken me more time than I'd have liked, but at least now all seem to be in good order. As for Instagram, my idea is to post the Tweets with an accompanying image. To that avail, I have been studying how to use Blender, I am attaching two works in progress, the USS RANGER, as training, and SB SERENITY with a sketch of the attached USS Vigilant as a prop. SB SERENITY lacks visuals, so this is the first official representation as far as I'm aware, from the original inception in 1998 for DS13... It was about time! :-) We have also located a very talented graphics artist with tons of experience in Star Trek stuff that we might approach for material. In any case, you are all welcome to add up to this effort, your contributions will be very much appreciated! These images (and others, now that we have the 3D models it will be easier to produce nice pics en masse) will work as hooks for the posts and links to our Website. Speaking of which, we have slowly worked on it to provide more current information up front, and we will keep trying to keep it useful and welcoming to prospective new players. The blog, podcast and other ideas will have to wait a bit, but I still think they are good ideas and a good way to keep engagement and attract new players... Oh, well... So, we are in a bit better position than we were, but the main problem persists: we need new players to join us. Recruiting will be, from now on, our main priority. Respectfully submitted, David Suárez de Lis, CINCSF and Chair
