Beta Iotia
This system lies only a few light years from David and Goliath Nebulae. The planet Beta Iotia V, better known simply as Iotia, was once a large forced-labor camp run by the Gorn Hegemony, but was liberated by forces from Deep Space 13. The planet now operates as the new home for that very station.
Also of interest in-system is the volcanic world Beta Iotia IV. Due to the volcanic activity of the world, naturally-forming crystalline structures have been uncovered, the uses of which are only now showing promise. Certainly the Gorn Hegemony have shown an interest in exploting these minerals: half of the labor force of Iotia was put to work on Beta Iotia IV as crystal miners.

Velse
Velse is a planetary system located about 30 light years from Deep Space 13. It is a hotbed of illegal smuggling activity; in general, if it's illegal- drugs, information, weapons, etc.- and it's in Krima, it's gone through Velse first.
