B. Background Summary

Gar is, in most ways, a typical Andorian: passionate, prone to violence,
organized almost to a fault, and disciplined- most of the time. He is
usually very much the epitome of professionalism, albeit a little excited.
However, unlike most Andorians his age, he is not married; he rejected the
typical marriage arrangements made by his parents and struck out on his
own. This has given him a detachment from Andoria that other Andorians do
not usually possess. While he harbors no ill-will towards his homeworld,
and still maintains a romantic attachment to his birthplace, he considers
Starfleet very much his home.
Physically, he is, as most Andorians are, hardier and stronger than most
humans, as well as being taller and heavier- this is due to the greater
gravity and harsher conditions of Andoria.
His career has been one of some significance to date; while he has never
to command a starship, he has served in command positions on some of Star
Fleet's most decorated ships, in particular as the Chief Engineer of the
USS HOOD. It was during his time on the HOOD that he developed his
reputation as a warp propulsion savant; he would later convey this skill
into a position at Utopia Planitia Shipyards in Martian orbit. Here,
his organizational skills merged with his command capabilities and his
warp mechanics expertise, ultimately outlining the initial proposals to
develop what would become known as transwarp drive, a way to access the
subspace (or n-space) dimensions, allowing for faster transit across
space. Currently, he is the Project Manager for tranwarp development
project, colloquially called "The Great Experiment."

Like many Andorians, Gar is well-trained in the martial arts of his culture,
and has attained the equivalent of a 2nd-degree black belt in his studies.
He is also a crack shot with a phaser, to the point where he does not even
need to level his weapon at eye height to hit his target.
Gar is also an accomplished artist, preferring to work mostly in watercolors.
As one would imagine given his homeworld, his landscapes tend to be of frozen
wastelands.
Finally, Gar has a wonderful singing voice. Though not quite at the level
of the great Andorian vocalists, he can more than hold a tune.
