"Commander Maril, he's coming around." The nurse said with voice
of concern mixed with rising relief.
Allard slowly opened his eyes and focused on the Tamarain face
staring down at him. "Lieutentant Allard? J.C? Can you hear me? Do you
know who I am?" A name slowly emerged from the clouded dizziness that was
his mind. It was Commander Maril. He was on the FEYNMAN. it all came
flooding back to him. "What happened?" the young CSO asked in a quiet
voice.
Maril paused because although he knew what happened he didn't know
why it happened. Well that was not entirely true. "You came on to the
bridge about 10 minutes ago. I had left the Issahi delegation in
10-Forward to take control of the search for the PIAGET. As you exited
the turbolift you seemed disconcerted. You walked around the bridge and
faced me in the command chair and started demanding to know why an Issahi
had taken over. Thats when you collapsed. How is he?" This last was
directed to one of the sickbay doctors. "I need him on the bridge."
The doctor looked skeptical. "I've given him every test I can
think of and everyone points to him being absolutley fine. There is no
trace of whatever made him collapse." The doctor looked down at Allard.
"Lieutenant, under the circumstances I'm going to allow your release from
sickbay but if you feel any disorientation, even for a second..."
"I'll come a running" He sat up and swung his legs round to the
side of the biobed. "Promise."
"See that you do." The doctor had heard promises like that
before.
