III. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

A. Chronology (tabular form):

B. Background Summary:
Qangoz (pronounced softly, as if written “Quangoss”) is a pretty typical Benzite. Intelligent, meticulous, patient, generous, gentle, resolutive, pleasant and extremely competitive, he would do anything to win at all costs. While his traits are pretty common among other Benzites, he has acquired some extras during his training in the Star Fleet Academy.

As most Benzites, his height is similar to humans, slightly below the average. He looks fit although he isn’t anywhere close to an athlete. His skin is light blue with light green stripes here and there. He was born in the Geostructure of Tatock, in Benzar, located right in the north pole of the planet, something he’s really proud of.
He’s a loner, There are not many things he treasures more than his alone time, which he spends in his interests as well as in debating any enigma that might be floating around his mind. In order to have a clear view of how this trait plays a huge role in his life, we may refer to one of Randy’s (Qangoz’s human friend in the Academy) memories when he asked him about his passion for Geology: “rocks are quieter than you”. That is also the only record of Qangoz being mean.

His love for rocks and quietness led him to train and join the Academy Speleology Club, which actually is a plus for his SAR training. During this period, which some club members don’t remember as a good time, he managed to acquire some minor social skills after getting himself stuck while going through a narrow hole. He was found 15 minutes later still stuck, debating whether he’d try to free himself or yell for help.

He remembers his time in the Academy with passion, even some of the not so good times as he’s been reprimanded… at some point he was told praising LT. Amanda Hu (one of his instructors) would be an excellent idea, little he knew LT. Amanda Hu was the kind of human who loathes deifying others.

Another remarkable moment during his instruction happened during a survival exercise, he found two of his classmates wounded. While his competitive spirit was trying to make him go forward, he rapidly assisted them and managed to help them reach the extraction point; late… but everyone was safe, which made him get an academic commendation.

C. Personality Summary:

He is gentle and pretty easy-going. He will talk to everyone but will also get bored if no “Benzite’s mid-standards” (something deep or a straight call for help) are met.

He enjoys meeting with different cultures and studying them, he finds most differences pretty fascinating compared to his own culture. He loves talking about how their planets look like and their history. 

As a Benzite, he’s driven by a powerful will to please others, one doesn’t have to be his friend to have him running any errands that may arise, but once a friendship is strong enough he would do anything for his friends.

He likes Geology and Archeology, which led him to train himself and acquire some decent skills in Speleology.
He’s an active member of the Academy Speleology Club.


IX. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

In 2372, genetic re-sequencing techniques allowed most Benzites to breathe without the vaporizers. Qangoz, born past that year, was born already re-sequenced—like most Benzites in the last decades—, hence he doesn’t need the vaporizer.

As other Benzites, he has two opposable thumbs on each hand, so he’s often confused over which one should be used to give thumbs up.

Watch out when encountering other Benzites, if they are from the same Geostructure they will look identical to each other, only Benzites are capable to notice the differences.

In contrast to Starfleet procedures, the Benzite space service calls for an officer to withhold the report of any unusual finding until a full analysis can be run and a resolution offered. This is something he might extend to everything happening around him. Information should be useful or not provided at all.

The Benzite phrase "your accounting is off" means "you have erred, socially or professionally".
