Welcome, one and all, to the April '96 Roundtable ...

My name is Alex Knepper, and I'll be your host for a short time.
🙂

This is the first RT of a new year, and there are several new
ships and new representatives joining us for the first time.
Welcome to all of you joining us now, and welcome back to our
'veterans.' 🙂 My apologies for not getting this started
earlier, technical problems interfered.

There have been many changes since the last RT, but the biggest
(and most unfortunate) was the recent resignation of Mike Miller
as CINCSF/Fleet Admiral. As Senior Admiral, I have been serving
temporarily in that capacity, but I cannot do so for very long
(nor do I wish to). Thus, the first order of business of this
RT will be the election of a new FA.

From now until Midnight GMT Sunday, April 7th, the floor will
be open for nominations and discussions of candidates. At
midnight on the abovementioned date (barring some horrible
unforeseen circumstances) the discussion period will close
and a call for votes will be declared.

Some quick rules, to keep this from turning into a thrash pit.

1) Each nomination must be made and seconded.
2) Each nomination must be publicly accepted by the nominee.
3) Flaming will be looked upon with the severest disfavor, and
may cause the guilty party(s) to be ruled out of order.
Please, everyone, let's try to keep it civil.
