| |
| Background:
| |
| T'kavar is the only daughter of Cmdr. T'beara, former first officer of the USS LISBON and Lt. Cmdr. Sumak, that ship's chief engineer. She was born on the ship and lived on the LISBON for 15 years while her parents worked their way up in rank. She had a lonely childhood, being one of only 3 Vulcan children on the small ship. Her parents had only a small amount of time to devote to her, and she learned to fend for her self. She taught herself to master her own emotions, with only a little formal training.
| |
|
| |
| Her mother was killed on some nameless asteroid in a skirmish with Cardassian terrorists. Her father's reaction was very emotional, and he gave up his SF commission and returned to Vulcan to regain his control. T'kavar was even more alone on Vulcan than she'd been on the LISBON. She stayed with her grandparents for a few years, while growing to dislike her ancestral home even more. When she could, she returned to the only world she'd ever known by entering SF Academy.
| |
|
| |
| She established a deep and enduring relationship with CAPT T'iana, a fellow Vulcan, and CO of the USS BISMARK. When T'iana retired and the BISMARK was also retired from active service, T'kavar followed. She spent several years working in civilian positions for Starfleet and on Vulcan. She was assigned to a fleet support project for the AMBERJACK, which led to a return to active service as the XO. She has spent several years as a professor, but the pull of the stars - the only home she has really ever known - is strong...

|
| |
| Personality:
| |
| She's a bit of a Vulcan on the edge. She is very good at maintaining external control of her feelings, but not nearly as good at suppressing them. She considers herself a 'second-class' Vulcan for what she knows she feels inside. She's never felt truly at home anywhere, neither on Vulcan, or in the human dominated world of SF.

| Recommendations:
| |
| "I hate to categorize any of my students, but T'kavar is typical of what I've come to expect from Vulcan's. She's very good at interfacing with the computer, or the engines, and not as good at interfacing with other people." -- Lt. Cmdr. Thomas Williams, Engineering Instructor SFA
| |
|
| |
| "Every CEO wants to have junior officers he can rely on to get the job done. T'kavar has performed every task I've laid upon her with a keen attention to detail, and schedule. She needs a bit more experience and to learn how to accept a compliment, and I have no doubt she'll make a fine officer." -- Lt. Isaac Stern, CEO USS BISMARCK
