Introduction
Battlecruisers are the steel fist within Star Fleet's velvet glove. When force is called for, these fast, heavily armored, and agile ships are ready to answer the call.
The CIRCE is actually something of an experiment in automation, allowing a smaller ship operated by fewer personnel to have combat capabilities on par with much larger battle cruisers. There is a price of course. She is crammed with equipment. Crew spaces are very small for a Federation starship and her laboratory facilties are almost non-existant compared to other cruisers and battle cruisers. She is a lean warship built using lessons learned in the Dalriadan War and is accordingly light and maneuverable by even multi-mission heavy cruiser standards.
U.S.S. EXCALIBUR therefore is assigned the toughest missions Star Fleet comes up with and so this ship's reputation corresponds to her name EXCALIBUR, the legendary sword.
The EXCALIBUR is currently under the command of CAPT Jennifer Hawk (played by Juan Angle Romero). EXCALIBUR was transferred to Blue Fleet on Stardate 190501.
If you are interested in more information about the EXCALIBUR, please contact Juan Romero, who plays Captain Jennifer Hawk. Inquiries regarding role playing opportunities in Blue may be directed to Jeffrey Jenkins, who plays ADM John R. Brooks, Commander in Chief Blue Fleet.

What is ASR?
Alt.StarFleet.RPG (or ASR) is a Usenet newsgroup on the Internet. Using email and Usenet, ASR players create an interactive fiction universe based on Star Trek: The Next Generation, extrapolated approximately 40 years after the end of the series. Players create characters and, along with other players, develop stories set around starships, starbases, and the various beings that inhabit both. ASR, founded in 1991, has grown to 17 role-playing units, organized into 3 distinct timelines, involving around 100 players. It continues to grow and prosper.
To learn more about ASR, you can visit the ASR Homepage.
At this site, you can find instructions on how to join ASR in the ASR FAQ, as well as other official documents, and links to other starship homepages. This FAQ is also posted periodically on the newsgroup.
