The ''Constellation'' is one of Starfleet's 12 ''Constitution''-class exploration vessels, her mandate being "to explore strange new worlds...to seek out new life, and new civilizations" on the frontiers fo the galaxy.

''Constellation'' is currently under the command of one of Starfleet's most elite Captains, CAPT Jack Veld.  

''Constellation'' is part of ASR: ORIGINS, which is based on the alternate timeline set in the 2009 Star Trek movie.
