RT0504- CINCSF Report Addendum
From StarFleet Bureau of Information
Assembled Delegates, Please excuse my interruption here; in my zeal to wlecome SAPPHIRE Fleet to our club, I forgot to mention something I am actually supposed to report on- the health of the branches. My apologies to one and all. Branch health is stable, though it is not as strong as it was a year ago. The strongest branches continue to be Star Fleet Engineering and the Office of Star Fleet Intelligence. SFE has been working very closely wiht the SAPPHIRE Fleet crew to develop ASR-based specs for the incoming ships; both SFE and OSFI have been working to develop the BATA information jointly over the past month or so. Public Affairs will be adding Mike Tripp to its fold to help administrate the new bulletin board we have. At present, we have one branch with a clear vacancy at its branch head position: Star Fleet Marine Corps. Also, we have 2 branch heads on long-term, indefinite leave and will likely need to be replaced- Lena Rose at Star Fleet Medical and Johann Ortiz at Star Fleet Judge Advocate General. In addition, Star Fleet Sciences currently has an Acting head in David Suarez de Lis, the assitant branch head. Star Fleet Records, the Department of Colonial Affairs (UFPDOCA), and the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UFPESCO) currently are manned, but have largely been inactive in developing new material, mostly due to the nature of the branch. We have begun moving the branch information over to the new Bureau of Information wiki-style database. You can access the information by going to: http://boi.alt-starfleet-rpg.com/index.php/Main_Page . The information port is NOT finished, so please check back from time to time, as this will likely take a couple of months to bring everything over. Currently, SFJAG, SFMED, and SFMC are completely ported. OSFI is mostly ported, with only the shared BATA pages left to move. SFE is in the middle of moving its HUGE database as we speak. And at least some of the ASR Library has moved as well. This move to a wiki-style database will make it much easier for everyone to access information as well as submit new information. New information is still subject to approval by the branch ehads, of course, and anything that doesn't fit can and will be removed. But it will be easier on everyone. So, in short, we need someone to head up the Marine Corps branch, and we need to find someone willing to take on the Sciences branch as well. In addition, since boith the SFMED and the SFJAG heads have been out of contact for some time, we'll need to gauge interest infinding someone to run those branches as well. But the amount of material we have developed and have at the ready makes filling these positions not an emergency. Respectfully Submitted, -Scott Lusby CINCSF Chair, April 2005 ASR Round Table
