SFSECIS Agents are civilian law enforcement professionals sworn into duty in Star Fleet, however, do not operate within the chains of command in any branch of Star Fleet. As such, they are not subject to orders of any officer, warrant officer or non-commissioned offer. Thus, SFSECIS Agents cannot be intimidated, influenced, or otherwise coerced by anyone with regard to the outcome of a pending investigation. SFSECIS Agents can operate free from undue influence or conflicts of interest; exercise legal authority to determine probable cause, make necessary arrests, and refer charges to the appropriate SFJAG unit for review.

Regulations serve as the music, guiding the three entities in their synchronized efforts to protect victims and hold offenders accountable under the SFUCMJ.
