SECIS is the Investigative Arm of Star Fleet. Any crime that is committed on either a Star Fleet Ship, or involving Star Fleet Personnel falls under the jurisdiction of SECIS. Much like the relationship between the cops and the Prosecutor, SECIS hands over whatever evidence they have to SECIS to determine if they want to persue it towards court martial. It is made up of both Civilian and Star Fleet Personnel, and generally operates outside the normal chain of command. As a result of this, SECIS personnel are not generally eligible to take command of the station. | |||
