“How very noble of you John; however, two moving targets are a bit harder to hit than one. I assume you have mastered the skill of running and shooting at the same time.” Corbett chided. | |||
DeSimms shot the doctor a dark look. “On my count, 3, 2, 1 break.” | |||
Both officers scrambled from the meager cover they had and shot out in opposite directions each laying down as much fire as possible. | |||

The Doctor peeled off to the east, and DeSimms broke off towards a series of pipes. Using his knowledge of Parkour, he swung over one pipe, did a cat-pass over a piece of drywall and leaped onto a walkway. A Klingon saw him and shot a burst into a pipe above him, a cloud of Steam obscured DeSimms. DeSimms ran towards some access stairs towards the roof. | |||
He busted through the roof access door, and was met with Ensign Lowl brandishing a Plasma Rifle. Lowl flinched back and said, "Sorry sir, didn't know you were coming up." | |||
"How many came down," Asked DeSimms. He looked around and saw six shuttlecraft. Troops were disembarking from 4 of shuttlecrafts and the other two empty, ready to transport people out of there. | |||
"About 40," Said Lowl, "Saber and Tango squad." | |||
"All of you have Plasma rifles?" | |||
"No, only half of Saber has the qualifications to use them." | |||
"Only ten people have them?" Exclaimed DeSimms. "Goddammit!" | |||
"We are getting ready to rope through the skylight." Said Lowl, who led DeSimms, "We only got one rope, but you know." | |||
"Jesus, someones taking some extra shifts training," He turned to the mass of security members, "Listen up, we are fast roping in now! All men with rifles rope in first and fast." | |||
"What about the rest of us?" Asked a Medic who was attached to Tango team. | |||
"Is this is frakin' peanut gallery. You rope in second and provide support. What kind of a rescue team is this?" | |||
A burly NCO with a rifle interrupted, "We're ready!" | |||
"DeSimms shot through the glass and dropped a plasma grenade. After the boom, the rope was dropped and DeSimms, Lowl and the other 10 men with rifles roped in, firing as the slid down the rope. They landed, and five men proceeded to form a circle around the rope in a very unconventional fashion. The Romulans dispersed that circle in less than a second, with DeSimms cursing the new Starfleet training. | |||
Lowl and DeSimms began running towards the west exit, where Sachen was last seen. As Lowl breached the door, DeSimms turned around and made an assessment of Security's progress. The Klingons had scattered the 10-man breaching team all over the terminal, while Romulans were keeping them and the Klingons pinned down. Lowl planted the charge on the access door, and DeSimms got into position. | |||
Right as Lowl was about to breach, a loud dull noise came from the direction of the skylight. The same impatient medic that had talked to DeSimms on the roof had fallen into the lobby and was lying on the ground unconscious. The Klingons seemed to think he was, and were ignoring him for the time being. DeSimms turned his head. He would have to deal with this later. He yelled to Lowl, "Breach!" | |||
The two of them ran into the room, where Avae was holding Gar at gunpoint with a phaser. DeSimms grabbed Avae and pinned her up against the wall. Lowl took his kit and gave DeSimms two good old plastic ties. DeSimms tied Avae up and left her on the floor. Who knew, maybe some lucky Romulan would find her. | |||
He turned to Sachen and Gar and yelled, "I know a way to access the roof, follow me!" | |||
NRPG: While Corbett is in one of his 'doctor' moods, how 'bout he try to get to that Medic in the center of the room. Who knows, maybe there are some good Samaritans in the Klingon party as well . | |||
