heart of the Sinai Desert, expelling Singh's fanatics from the | |||
region. During the withdrawal, the convoy that Sgt. Kingston's team | |||
was escorting was attacked by partisans loyal to Singh's cause. His | |||
crew was successful in rescuing the convoy and repelling the partisan | |||
armored vehicles. For this action, Sgt. Kingston was awarded the | |||
Bronze Star with "V" device. This defense had a terrible price for | |||
Michael. His brother was in one of the Bradleys next to Michael's. | |||
Gregory's Bradley was destroyed during the firefight, killing all on | |||
board. Michael still has the U.S. Flag and the Medal of Honor that | |||
was awarded posthumously to his brother. | |||

to return to military service by accepting a promotion (appointment?) to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, Starfleet Marine Corps and served aboard the USS NORFOLK as the 2nd Platoon Sergeant/Armory NCOIC. After his tour on the NORFOLK, he applied for the Starfleet Officer Candidate Course at McKinley Station on Earth. He was accepted and excelled in his class. Because of his prior combat leadership and experience, Michael was commissioned as a Lieutenant Major and assigned to the USS PROMETHEUS as Executive Officer, 4th Battalion, 105th Marine Expeditionary Force, where he spent a year; transferring to SB ALIGHERI to assume duties as XO, 1st Batallion, 135th Marines on Camp Necessity for 2 years before his retirement in 2412. | to return to military service by accepting a promotion | ||

VII. Psychological Profile | |||
--------------------------- | |||
Being awakened after 410 years of cryogenic sleep can have an | |||
effect on a person. Michael is no exception to that rule. He's had | |||
some difficulty getting used to the fact that it's now the 25th | |||
century instead of the 20th. Sometimes he does run his mouth a bit | |||
and speak his mind, but fortunately that never got him in trouble; | |||
for on numerous | |||
occasions, speaking his mind averted major disasters in Desert | |||
Storm and the Eugenics Wars. He can slip into the 20th century | |||
vernacular, and he'll have to explain to someone born in the late | |||
24th century what that | |||
means. Even though he's qualified with both the hand phaser and | |||
phaser rifle, Michael feels very comfortable with an M9 9mm pistol | |||
and an M16 rifle. | |||
If he feels homesick for the 20th century, Michael has 2 holodeck | |||
programs that he created. One recreates a pistol and rifle range, | |||
based on the ranges on one of the various posts that he served on | |||
while he was in the Army. The other is a recreation of an urban | |||
assault range, where he and two others have to secure a building | |||
(the holodeck safeties are on so the program will freeze before a bullet | |||
hits anyone who is using the program.) | |||

VIII. Current Recreational Interests | |||
------------------------------------- | |||
Off Duty, LMAJ Kingston enjoys playing several rounds of golf. | |||
Technology of the 24th and 25th Centuries have enabled him to learn | |||
the game from the great Terran masters such as Arnold Palmer, Jack | |||
Nickalaus and Tiger Woods. | |||
