B. Background Summary:
Dorothy was raised by her father and his mother; her own mother was an officer in Starfleet and away eleven months out of every year of her life as a child. When Dorothy was 14 years old, her mother didn’t make it home. One day, Dorothy came home from school, to find her grandmother, her father, and two officers from Starfleet in their living room. They were there to inform her, her father, and his mother, that Dorothy’s mother would not be coming home again.
Prior to graduating from University Dorothy was offered a commission in Starfleet after completing her degree requirements and after graduating with an Engineering degree from University, attended Fleet Academy, in San Francisco. At Academy, Dorothy expanded her engineering studies to include temporal mechanics and had completed her elective course requirements by the end of the summer after her second year; she added a command training track in her third year, and including a one-year cadet cruise in what would have been her fourth year, completed all her Academy requirements and earned a Master’s Degree five years after entering Fleet Academy. She graduated and was commissioned as a Lieutenant, Junior Grade.
