The ship is comprised of a narrow, elongated ovoid saucer with twin warp nacelles mounted directly to the saucer. On the aft port and starboard sides of the saucer, two movable winglets are used for enhanced atmospheric. Pulse phaser turrets are mounted above and in front of the warp drive housing massively increasing the short-range firepower of this ship, making its total armament nearly that of a destroyer. The ship is mainly a fast attack frigate, with moderate capabilities inresearch and science. Its tactical sensors arrays are amoung the best on any ship of its size, rivaling the sensor suites on some destroyers. This allows the ship to, when necessary, leave its normal duties as a patrol ship and join its larger cousins in interstellar exploration. The ship is designed for planetary landing. Anti-gravity field generators are distributed about the ship. The hull is reinforced for atmospheric operation and a retractable landing strut is present in the forward ventral section of the hull. Using this strutt and the weapons winglets, the ship can set down on nearly any stable surface capable of supporting the ship's weight. The ship can land on an incling of up to twenty degrees. Launch thrusters are added on the underside for vertical lift off, landing, and hovering when landing is not possible.
