Perfectly suited for frontier work, the ship is able to perform Engineering tasks like deep space probes or transmissors repairs, colony or station deployment, repair or dismantling, as well as transportation of huge equipment or supplies that cannot be replicated (or it's not cost-effective). It has a greater than usual crew due to the great number of Workerbee operatives and additional specilized personnel. Like the CORAL REEF-class Frigate, the ASSEMBLY-class wears Engineering yellow stripes on her hull. ASSEMBLY-class ships are deployed when CORAL REEF-class ships won't reach or won't be up to a task. As such, they are sturdy, well defended and able to keep their ground while performing their work. Like most StarFleet ships, they have excellent sensors and are fast and have great endurance. The new ILN-70x nacelle series has improved Warp coils using a system of multiple concentrical layers that provides an exceptional thermal reaction and allows for softer acceleration curves and finer control in the local manifold deformation. Dedicated computer nodes, gathering information in real time, are able to calculate the Warp bubble geometry tensor at triple the frequency and almost ten times as precisely as older models. This allows for faster speeds with less energy expenditure, allowing for faster, longer Warp travels. In addition to the new Warp system, the ASSEMBLY-class CL is equipped with the latest Gen V D-Warp technology, which coupled with the improved shields and SRPS-1 radiation phase shielding system, allows for considerably faster and more robust D-Warp travel in all Hyperspace bands. This new D-Warp iteration offers improved control over local gravimetrics, providing extremely agile and responsive sublight flight. Coupled with the light and sturdy spaceframe of the ship, this provides one of the best gravitic plane drive in the whole catalog of StarFleet. The primary hull comprises 8 decks of 4.6 meters high each and contains the bridge on deck 1, as well as a big mess hall on de forward starboard side of deck 5 called 5-Forward. It also has a heavy duty tractor beam emitter on decks 6, which is useful for towing orbital structures and even other ships at up Warp 6. The two main hangar bays are located aft, p/s, on decks 4-6, and have the majority of the major crafts. Aux bays 3 and 4 are VTOL and located on deck 4, p/s and have the majority of Workerbees, essential for most orbital and spatial works. The Engineering/Cargo bay is VTOL and located aft in decks 4-6, and gives access to the big Cargo holds. Decks 9-11 are located on the nacelle pylons, which are actually wide enough to have laboratories and crew quarters. The ship pod is also located in those decks, hanging from the main hull by a pair of pylons that have enough space to have maintenance conduits and a turbilift shaft. The pod contains the navigation deflector dish, main sensor dish and the aft torpedo launchers. Ships of the class are named after the concept of reunion or rejoining, registry numbers in the NCC-973xx series.
