| MEDICAL NOTES
| |
| MEDICAL OVERVIEW
| |
| Serenidad exhibits Vulcan-like focus, highly abstract thinking, advanced mental processing speed, and a nearly photographic memory. Her projected lifespan is expected to exceed 500 years. All these abilities are due to the ongoing Sicaraxan eugenics program begun at the colony's founding.
| |
| Until recently, Serenidad's "natural" abilities were enhanced by a series of artificial implants. She had artificial eyes that interface with three bioimplants in her cortex. These permitted her to visually process data files stored within her implants as well as improve physical coordination. Other implants in her cerebellum gave her acrobatic agility. Buried within her bones lay a personal shield generator, site-to-site transporter, and various energy weapons. Stored elsewhere were nanite workers to keep her artifical parts working and as anti-borg combatants.
| |
|
| |
| All of her artificial devices were surgically removed on SD 180403. Her homeworld had ordered this aciton for all Sicaraxans serving in Starfleet and in governmental offices throughout the Federation. It was deemed a politically necessary gesture in the planet's application for Federation membership. Serenidad looks forward to the day when her enhanced abilities will be restored to her.

| BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
| |
| BACKGROUND SUMMARY
| |
|
| |
| Sicarax was founded in the 22nd Century by a group of Earth scientists with the intention of creating a genetically advanced society. The colony flourished in peace until galactic politics drew a border with an unfriendly 23rd Century Klingon Empire only a few light years away. Sicarax applied for and received protection from the Federation, but not membership. The planet was quarantined to protect Federation Society from the dangers perceived by the eugenics program.
| |
| Political attitudes required over a hundred years to cool before Sicarax successfully lobbied the Federation Council to allow some of the colonists to apply for citizenship. Young Estrella Serenidad's parents were among the first applicants. Her parents entered Federation society as diplomats and quickly made names for themselves working with the Tholians.
| |
|
| |
| The frequent diplomatic trips to and from Tholian space gave Serenidad a taste for life among the stars. Still, she had to apply twice to Starfleet before friendly Federation Council members could push her through admissions. The screening board admitted reluctance to shouldering responsibility for the obvious political consequences that Serenidad's career would bring. Once in the Academy, however, Serenidad enjoyed the fact that she performed better than most anyone else at nearly everything she did.
| |
|
| |
| While Serenidad appreciated her abilities, she has been incessantly drilled by her parents, mentors, and friends not to flaunt her talents or to develop attitudes of inherent superiority. As an adult, she came to appreciate just how closely political entities within Starfleet, the Federation Council, and her homeworld Sicarax were watching her integration. Her success or failure would directly affect her homeworld's ongoing pursuit of Federation membership.

|
| |
| PERSONALITY NOTES
| |
| AMBITIONS
| |
| Serenidad seeks to build political connections through Starfleet, then run for the Federation Council. She wishes nothing less than to speed the Federation's march toward symbiosis with the synthetic. She sees this as the next inevitable step in human evolution.
| |
| CHARACTERISTICS
| |
| Serenidad is intellectual, deeply spiritual, and quietly passionate about her political views. She is aware of the Federation's reluctance to indulge in artificial human enhancements and guards her more shocking opinions on eugenics. Since the Sicaraxan authorities ordered its citizens working within the Federation to abandon their artificial bio-devices, Serenidad's loyalty has been severly tested. Her cool confidence has shifted to near constant unease as she struggles to adapt to life without her enhancements. She feels far less secure personally without her body defenses.
| |
|
| |
| She treasures friendship, loyalty, and integrity. She does not trust anyone easily. Those who betray her trust find it nearly impossible to regain it.

| |
| SPIRITUAL BELIEFS
| |
| Many find it remarkable that a genetically superior human converted to Christianity. Serenidad claims that a classmate, Taka Kwihani, first challenged her on the subject of comparing religions. Kwihani helped her recognize the futility of existence without the hope of everlasting life. From there it was a two year walk toward becoming convinced that she had found the "right" religion. Of course, she admits to a habit of constantly double-checking the evidence, arguments, and her own personal reasons for believing. Religious debate is a favorite passtime of hers.

| |
| |
|
| |
| |
| |
|
| |
| |
|
| |

| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
|
| |

| |
| |

| |
| Minna is something of a bookworm, and doesn't get out much. While she may
| |
| border on being socially inept (never even dated at age 32), she has lived
| |
| many lives vicariously through books, which are her passion. In addition,
| |
| she is an accomplished floutist, having played with the Seoul Philharmonic
| |
| Orchestra, and for the two years she spent at Cal Tech, she performed with
| |
| the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra as guest soloist on five occasions.

| |
| program and received her commission as an ensign in the Science Branch.
| |
|
| |
| 37: Completed AOT and ALB Training, awaiting assignment.
| |
|
| |
| B. Background Summary:
| |
| -----------------------
| |
|
| |
| Minna Chang was something of a prodigy, though by the choice of her parents
| |
| she was only advanced in academic grade once, more than that, in her
| |
| mother's opinion, would cause too many developmental problems. Still, as
| |
| early as Junior High School Minna was submitting entries to Federation Math
| |
| contests, and winning. By her first year of High School she had published
| |
| papers in both math and physics.
| |
|
| |
| After a BS, a dual MS and two doctorates, all while playing flute
| |
| semi-professionally, Minna felt a strong need to leave the confines of the
| |
| solar system, and took a job with Starfleet, which eventually led to her
| |
| commissioning through the AOT program.
| |

| |
| -----------------------------
| |
| Hawking Award (Civilian)
| |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------
| |
| V. Skills Profile
| |
| ------------------
| |
|
| |
| Minna Chang is simply brilliant. She was admitted to MENSA at the age of 6,
| |
| has an IQ of roughly 230. Her talents are primarily mathematical, however
| |
| she has also excelled in music, which in her opinion, is perhaps the
| |
| ultimate expression of mathematics. Despite her intelligence, she is a poor
| |
| strategist, and is easily defeated in Western Chess, Paduk (Japanese Go) or
| |
| even simpler games such as checkers.
| |
|
| |
| She also suffers, or benefits, from a rare condition called Esper-Blindness,
| |
| which means that she is completely inaccessible to telepathic and empathic
| |
| penetration. Telepaths simply are not even aware of her presence, and
| |
| cannot project or read thoughts or emotions. This is naturally occurring,
| |
| though exceedingly rare, affecting perhaps one in every billion humans. She
| |
| has absolutely no psionic ability herself, and with this condition,
| |
| absolutely never will.
| |
|
| |
| She is also extremely well-read, prefering the safety of adventuring in
| |
| books to real life. It was two-years-ago, when her older brother was
| |
| reported MIA, that Minna realized that she hadn't even begun to live. That
| |
| even sparked her desire to see the universe, and while still very timid, she
| |
| has done her best to step out.
| |
|
| |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------
| |
| VI. Recent Fitness Report
| |
| --------------------------
| |
|
| |
| I don't know why Cadet Chang is here, as a science post aboard a starship is
| |
| not what her education was aimed at. Still, she is eager and while timid,
| |
| tries her best.
| |
|
| |
| Physically, military life is difficult for Cadet Chang as she is not strong
| |
| or athletic, and borders on anorexic. Still, she is healthy and has no
| |
| apparant defects.

|
| |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------
| |
| VII. Psychological Profile
| |
| ---------------------------
| |
|
| |
| Cadet Chang is very timid and shy, but strangely, my telepathic abilities
| |
| are not capable of penetrating her thoughts. She did not test as
| |
| telepathic, but it is as though she is simply not there.
| |
|
| |
| Using more conventional analysis, I believe that Cadet Chang is capable of
| |
| serving as a Science Officer on a Starfleet ship, I'm just not sure why she
| |
| wants to.

| |
|
| |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------
| |
| VIII. Current Recreational Interests
| |
| -------------------------------------
| |
|
| |
| Minna still plays her flute semi-professionally, and actually gave a recital
| |
| the week before her AOT class in San Francisco, which was attended by many
| |
| of the highest ranking starfleet officers and politicians in that city.
| |
|
| |
| When not practicing, or reading, she is usually researching whatever burning
| |
| mathematical or physics question has aroused her curiosity.

| |
| B. Background Summary:
| |
| -----------------------
| |
| Born and raised on Trill, Tyrzen is the youngest child of Wisnoe
| |
| farmers, Lizan and Minarzo Ran. Wisnoe is a relatively small
| |
| province, based largely around a farming community on the smaller
| |
| Southern Continent of Trill. Off shore visitors or alien species
| |
| are more rare on the Southern Continent than on the main Northern
| |
| Continent, so Tyrzen's strongest influence while growing up was
| |
| an uncle (her mothers' brother) who worked as an independent
| |
| trader - primarily amongst smaller worlds that were not
| |
| officially part of the Federation. His stories of strange
| |
| planets and amazing life forms fuelled Tyrzen's imagination and
| |
| from around the age of 12, she had decided that she too wanted
| |
| to travel the stars.
| |
|
| |
| Tyrzen's other major love was for science, and at the age of 13,
| |
| she was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Lanore
| |
| Conversatory. Based in Arment (Trill's largest City in the
| |
| Northern Continent), Tyrzen flourished under the relative
| |
| independence and freedom of the larger city; conntinuing to gain
| |
| in confidence and maturity.
| |
|
| |
| At the age of 15, Tyrzen discovered medicine - she had always had
| |
| a soft spot for healing, growing up on a farm she had never been
| |
| short of any number of animal companions - all of whom had had at
| |
| some point or another some form of doctoring performed on them.
| |
| While studying advanced Scientific principles at Lanore
| |
| Conversatory, Tyrzen became drawn to the intricacies of the
| |
| corporal form and the way in which different species were
| |
| literally put together. This would fuel a life long interest in
| |
| xenobiology and exobiology.
| |
|
| |
| A Recruitment Officer from Star Fleet Academy, who visited and
| |
| made a presentation to the school in Tyrzen's second to final
| |
| year, persuaded Tyrzen to submit an application to the Academy.
| |
| The application was successful and after graduating from Lanore
| |
| Conservatory, Tyrzen joined the Academy to major in Pre-Med and
| |
| Biological Sciences.
| |
|
| |
| At the Academy, Tyrzen flourished under the daily life and
| |
| pressures of Star Fleet Academy. Her natural self-confidence
| |
| made her popular with her classmates and several other non-human
| |
| races were drawn to her and her way that she adjusted to life on
| |
| Earth.
| |
|
| |
| Unbeknown to Tyrzen her name was also becoming talked about back
| |
| on Trill, with the Symbiont Recruitment Board taking an interest
| |
| in her. Tyrzen was initially approached at the successful
| |
| completion of her Pre-Med studies and asked if she would be
| |
| interested in hosting a symbiont. There is no greater honour on
| |
| Trill than to be selected as a host for a Symbiont, so unsurpris-
| |
| ingly, her answer was yes. However, with her impeding acceptance
| |
| into Star Fleet Academy's Medical programme and the fact that
| |
| usual placements of Symbionts happened when people's were in their
| |
| 30's and 40's, she quickly put the offer out of her mind and
| |
| switched her focus back onto her studies.
| |
|
| |
| With her aim solely on a shipboard position as a Chief Medical
| |
| Officer, Tyrzen settled into Star Fleet Medical Academy with a
| |
| passion that would leave a lasting impression on her Professors.
| |
| Selecting majors that she believed would see her most likely
| |
| assigned to a ship, she chose Emergency Medicine and her old
| |
| favorite of Xenobiology as her respective Majors.
| |
|
| |
| Three and a half years into her Medical degree, Tyrzen received
| |
| news that a Symbiont had been identified as a potential match.
| |
| Stunned at the news that she was to receive a symbiont at only 23
| |
| years old, she applied for and was granted a leave of absence of
| |
| six months from Star Fleet Academy to return home and receive the
| |
| training to receive the Symbiont.
| |
|
| |
| The Kur symbiont was placed into Tyrzen four months after
| |
| succesfully completing the preparation programme - and as is
| |
| Trill tradition, Tyrzen officially changed her name from Tyrzen
| |
| Ran to Tyrzen Kur at that time.
| |
|
| |
| Tyrzen returned to Star Fleet Academy shortly after receiving the
| |
| Kur Symbiont and fitted back into her studies. The effect of the
| |
| Symbiont was immediately obvious. Tyrzen's time at Star Fleet
| |
| Academy up to that point had been marked by hard work,
| |
| determination and a passion to succeed. She had lost none of
| |
| those traits, but it was blunted slightly by a more measured
| |
| approach to study and life. Her grades (which had already been
| |
| excellent) improved even further as she took time out of her
| |
| schedule to join the Star Fleet Academic Springball team and
| |
| Tramping clubs. She fell naturally back into her old role of
| |
| assisting those people who were struggling with life on Earth,
| |
| formally joining the Star Fleet Academy Mentor programme in her
| |
| final year, for which she received an Official Commendation.
| |
| Graduating with her Medical Degree in 2412, she completed her
| |
| General Surgical Residency aboard the USS Fortune under the
| |
| direction of their Chief Medical Officer, LCDR R'chek; before
| |
| being assigned to the KIROV as their CMO.
| |
|
| |
| Tyrzen has a deathly fair of shuttlecraft (a previous host was
| |
| killed in a shuttlecraft accident). She also has a very low
| |
| tolerance to stimulants (alcohol, narcotics and some prescribed
| |
| medications) - repeated exposure or a significant dosage may
| |
| potentially trigger a psychotic episode. Minor dosages will
| |
| leave her feeling dazed and confused.
| |
|
| |
| C. Kur Symbiont Host History:
| |
| ------------------------------
| |
| Ezaya (Female), Professional Skier (1943-2046)
| |
| ----------------------------------------------
| |
| Ezaya was an incredibly gifted sportsperson, but preferred to
| |
| ply her trade in individual sports (rather than team sports) and
| |
| carved out a successful career as a Downhill Snow Skier. Her
| |
| parents work requirements meant that Ezaya had little to do with
| |
| them during her formative years and as such she preferred to work
| |
| alone as an adult. She was therefore surprised when she was
| |
| approached to have the initial Kur symbiont. Much of the Kur
| |
| Symbiont's personality that arises in its subsequent hosts is
| |
| attributed to Ezaya. It is in fact such a dominant personality
| |
| trait that since Azenor's time, all future hosts are selected on
| |
| the basis of their work ethic and a demonstrated determination
| |
| to succeed that was so apparent in Eazaya's personality. Ezaya
| |
| never married, but she did have a son whom she raised on her own.
| |
|
| |
| Lazes (Male), Entertainer (2046-2153)
| |
| -------------------------------------
| |
| Lazes was a colorful character who spent most of his working
| |
| life as a successful illusionist plying his unique trade in the
| |
| tourist hotspots. Lazes was openly gay (a fairly rare trait
| |
| amongst Trills) and generally preferred to live amongst more
| |
| tolerant cultures, spending much of his later life on Risa. He
| |
| had no children.
| |
|
| |
| Azenor (Male), Musician (2153-2250)
| |
| -----------------------------------
| |
| Trills have long been known as great musicians and Azenor was a
| |
| classic example of this. Azenor spent most of his professional
| |
| life in the Trill National Orchestra and was widely recorded
| |
| during his lifetime. His primary instrument of choice was the
| |
| Karnor (similar to a small lute). Azenor and Tyrzen are an

| |
|
| |
| Loren is not a well-muscled man, although he is quite fit for your

| Interests:
| |
| 20th century rollerblading
| |
| kickboxing (21st century styles)
| |
| writing short stories
| |
|
| |
| Mental Abilities
| |
| Brief Description:
| |
|
| |
| Loren has full Betazoid telepathic abilities, rating more or a less an
| |
| average score among Betazoids in the implementation and use of his
| |
| abilities. This average rating is remarkable considering his background
| |
| and upbringing in the Klingon Empire.
| |
|
| |
| History
| |
| Brief Description:
| |
| Loren Landers was found on the SS PURUL, a derelict trading ship within
| |
| the boundaries of the Klingon empire at the tender age of 3 years. The
| |
| commander of the klingon bird of prey that found the vessel claimed Loren
| |
| as 'salvage' the rest of the ship being too damaged by unknown forces for
| |
| any kind of salvage. The klingon commander, Moff, named the pale,
| |
| injured child Loren Landers after one of the names on the crew manifest
| |
| for the ship.
| |
|
| |
| For Loren this left him to be raised on the klingon homeworld, Q'on'os,
| |
| among his two brothers and one sister. The years that followed were
| |
| naturally tough for the young, maturing man. Learningto fight was
| |
| paramount for Loren, in order for him to just survive. His skin color
| |
| and physical appearance made him a natural target, thus to just make it
| |
| through a day without major injuries, Loren learned to defend himself.
| |
| Upon reaching puberty, he slowly learned more about his Betazoid talents
| |
| and developed these abilities to aid in his own defense. He learned to
| |
| not only read his opponents physical movements in a fight, but also
| |
| learned to gather 'impressions' from his opponents thoughts, thus
| |
| allowing him to anticipate his opponents moves well ahead of the coming
| |
| attack. In short, Loren learned how to fight, and fight well. Very few
| |
| Klingons would dare call him out for a fair fight, as his reputation
| |
| grew in the social circles surrounding him. Nevertheless, the feelings
| |
| of isolation grew for Loren, and upon reaching 15, he realized just how
| |
| different he really was.
| |
|
| |
| Leaving Q'on'os wasn't difficult for the child man. All he had seen
| |
| there was fighting and hatred against him. Deep down there was a need
| |
| to actually feel wanted and loved. Abandoning his 'family' on the
| |
| Klingon homeworld, the youth managed to secure passage to the notorious
| |
| Sirius IV colony, where after arriving nearly penniless, he managed to
| |
| get hired as a dispute mediator for a major shipping exporter planetside.
| |
| Staying nearly two years at this job, from ages 15 to 17, Loren then left,
| |
| tendering an application to Starfleet Academy with the recommendation of
| |
| Cmdr. Loroque, CO of the SAMURAI vessel assigned to protect the colony on
| |
| Sirius IV.
| |
|
| |
| Excerpt from Loroque Recommendation
| |
| "...his talent truly lies in his ability to determine the directions
| |
| negotiations should go. Involving a particular dispute between two
| |
| shipping parties ready to begin firing upon each other's vessel while in
| |
| orbit, the young Mr. Landers not only assisted us in settling the dispute
| |
| but convinced both parties involved how working with each other would not
| |
| only increase their profits but allow them to nearly corner the market on
| |
| a particular item. Needless to say, I was impressed by the wisdom
| |
| exhibited by Mr. Landers at such an early age. I do recommend that his
| |
| entrance into the academy be welcomed."
| |
|
| |
| Cmdr. Loroque, CO USS VIXEN
| |
|
| |
| Academy and Post-Academy years
| |
|
| |
| Starfleet Academy proved uneventful for the young Landers, passing his
| |
| classes with average scores, excelling in Federation history and scoring
| |
| high on the auxiliary services exams. Like all telepahths in Starfleet,
| |
| Loren took the Telepath's oath vowing never to forcefully read another
| |
| sentient being’s mind. Following his graduation, Landers was given the
| |
| rank Ensign and assigned to the USS FEYNMAN as CNS.
| |
|
| |
| Serving for nearly three years aboard the FEYNMAN he rose rapidly in
| |
| rank from ensign to full lieutenant, not to mention the growth of a deep
| |
| relationship with the ship's crew particularly the ship's CMO, Dr. Mary
| |
| Mackrensacklar (Mac for short).
| |
|
| |
| The relationship between the two flourished into a romantic relationship,
| |
| which grew even more intimate upon the discovery of Dr. Mac's latent
| |
| telepathic abilities. Assisting her in controlling her newfound talent
| |
| was Loren, which even deepened their relationship.
| |
|
| |
| Feeling he had finally found that which was lacking in his life, namely
| |
| love, Loren began to feel at peace surrounded by his friends on the
| |
| FEYNMAN as well as Mary. During this time, the FEYNMAN on a mission in
| |
| the Coalsack Nebula encountered a superior Xanthandi strike force
| |
| and was subsequently destroyed. Fortunately less than 3% of the crew was
| |
| lost in the attack and escape.
| |
|
| |
| As the crew awaited reassignment, fully expecting to be broken up and
| |
| shipped to different vessels in the fleet, Dr. Mac was given an important
| |
| assignment in a remote sector dealing with a sudden virial outbreak.
| |
| Feeling it her duty to help others she accepted the assignment,
| |
| effectively ending her relationship with Loren.
| |
|
| |
| Heartbroken, Loren himself decided to leave anything and everything that
| |
| reminded him of her, requesting reassignment from the FEYNMAN crew which
| |
| now had been placed on a new SOVERIEGN class vessel, the KIROV. Loren was
| |
| reassigned as diplomatic liason to the Isaahi, and subsequently was
| |
| involved in ensuring a stalemate and brief negotiations between the warlike
| |
| Reavers, Isaahi, and Federation. After the negotiations had broken down,
| |
| Loren was left without an assignment, until the opening of the Gibraltar II
| |
| wormhole.
| |
|
| |
| Now that a new passageway has opened to the BETA quadrant, Starfleet saw a
| |
| need for someone on the frontlines to represent the interests of the
| |
| Federation in a diplomatic fashion. Enter Loren Landers, first contact
| |
| specialist. Suddenly, Loren found himself back onboard the KIROV,
| |
| alongside the crew he had hoped to forget, among those who were the only
| |
| ones to truly care for him.
| |
|
| |
| Unfortunately, this stint back with the crew Landers grew to see as family
| |
| was very short-lived. Starfleet, within a month of approving Loren’s
| |
| billet as a specialist onboard the KIROV, recalled him to assign him to a
| |
| special ancillary group within Starfleet Engineering, the Prototype
| |
| Spacecraft Test Group. Recently discovered technology, brought by the
| |
| arrival of a ship once lost in the Delta quadrant for some years spurred
| |
| several advances in light spacecraft that Starfleet saw fit to further
| |
| investigate. This group, PSTG, was tasked with the mission of design and
| |
| testing of new craft. It was still unknown at this time why Loren Landers
| |
| was tapped for being part of this group as his flight skills prior to
| |
| entering into service with this group was highly circumspect. Nonetheless,
| |
| after serving in this group for over 2 years, he sought and obtained a
| |
| billet on the ship that was once his home, the USS KIROV, with flight
| |
| skills far above what they had been previously. See Appendix: PSTG, for
| |
| non-classified information regarding the PSTG.

| |
| The Prototype Spacecraft Test Group exists as a very small and obscure

| MEMO: Cmdr. Dr. Owen Larson, Commanding Officer PSTG
| |
|
| |
| RE: Recruitment of Lt.Cmdr. Loren Landers
| |
|
| |
| I agree with Dr. Zaras’s comments regarding Lt.Cmdr. Landers. His telepathic
| |
| abilities would aid us tremendously in gaining more ground in understanding
| |
| the findings brought to us from that ship just recently returned from the Delta
| |
| quadrant. I believe that his lack of ability in navigation and piloting can be
| |
| remedied quickly enough. In addition, from what I’ve heard regarding his recent
| |
| posting as a negotiator near that new wormhole, he should be more than amenable
| |
| to our offer. Please proceed with contacting the commander. Inform him of none
| |
| of our plans for him though. I want him in the dark as much as possible.
| |
| Provide him with only the information he needs to know.

| |
| B. Background Summary:
| |
| ======================
| |
|
| |
| Nik grew up in a relatively isolated region of Alaska, just north of
| |
| the Arctic circle. His parents, both writers, had moved to the area
| |
| to get back to a simpler way of life where they could raise a family.
| |
|
| |
| Shortly after his 1st birthday, Nik's mother died when she accidentally
| |
| fell into a fissure in the ice of a nearby glacier. The death had a
| |
| chilling effect on his father, who was emotionally distant for the rest
| |
| of his life.
| |
|
| |
| Growing up, Nicholas was forced to rely solely on himself for company.
| |
| This fostered a drive to make himself the best he could be, both
| |
| physically and mentally. To this day, he is a voracious reader of
| |
| anything he can get his hands on, as well as an accomplished athlete.
| |
|
| |
| Upon the death of his father a month before his 18th birthday, Nik
| |
| found himself with no ties to his home and no reason to stay. Searching
| |
| for his purpose in life, he decided to join the Marines, whose
| |
| recruitment slogans promised that sense of purpose he lacked.

| "Cadet DeLaney show great skill and dedication to his academic pursuits.
| |
| He will certainly do well within the corps. However, his solitary
| |
| pursuits and lack of interaction with his fellow students leads me to
| |
| believe that this could cause problems later on in his career. Perhaps
| |
| the most worrisome indicator of this is the record time he holds in the
| |
| Kobayashi Maru test. During this can't- win test, most students
| |
| struggle to determine the course of action that will kill the least
| |
| crew and civilians. Cadet DeLaney actually bombed a civilian city,
| |
| destroying countless civilians along with half of his crew. While it
| |

| |

| PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE: Star Date 81215

| PATIENT: Cadet Commander Nicholas DeLaney
| |
| FINDINGS:
| |
|
| |
| Cadet DeLaney appears to be a dedicated student with excellent career
| |
| prospects ahead of him. While not the brightest or most intuitive of
| |
| the students I've seen, Nicholas has an ability to apply what has been
| |
| successful for others in similar situations to his own current
| |
| circumstances.
| |
|
| |
| Good qualities aside, however, Cadet DeLaney's mental state warrants
| |
| close observation. His early loss of his mother, isolation from others
| |
| and subsequent loss of his father seem to have combined to turn most of
| |
| his energies inward. While having no ill will towards others, Nicholas
| |
| seems to have no desire to connect either. His leisure activities are
| |
| almost exclusively solitary, and his Kobayashi Maru results indicate
| |
| little problem with sending others off to die when needed.
| |
|
| |
| I would expect Nicholas to follow the rules and regulations expected of
| |
| him, but I would be wary of placing him in situations without precedent
| |
| or clear cut rules.
