CASE HISTORY:
MD -2.0430 – 1LT Arval Tarkis (V1) found deceased in alley (lat/long coordinates included) by RTC Corporal Jesus Jimmenez at 0715 while on routine patrol.
MD -2.0515 - RTC Detective Dunnar Kellar assigned as lead investigator
Reports filed by Kellar and Jimmenez attached (R1 & R2 attached)
MD -2.1030 – Revel Town Coroner rules the death as a homicide via multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen with a knife (evidence exhibit A1, see below). Time of death estimated MD -1.2300 +/- 2 hours.
MD -2.1315 – Forensic analysis of the knife by the RTC crime lab shows multiple DNA samples of both V1 and 1LT Harrison Garfield (S1).
MD -2.1500 – Revel Town Constabulary files an arrest warrant for S1 with the 7th SF Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Vandergrift Relva VII. (R3 Arrest Warrant, attached)
MD -2.1530 – Lieutenant Colonel Echik Gabocx, CO Camp Vandergrift, makes necessary chain of command and preliminary investigation notifications to:
- BGEN Atam Nevam, Commanding Officer 4th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Andor
- CAPT Siobhan Fitzpatrick, Commanding Officer SOSSF Revla VII
- 1LT M’sai Hsora, Staff JAG Officer 7th SF Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Vandergrift
- ADDIC Tepio Inziana, SECIS Assistant Deputy Director In Charge, SB BETA/7
MD -2.1600 – LCOL Gabocx appoints his XO, MAJ Otrass K’Neg as Preliminary Investigation Officer (PIO), the principal liaison between JAG, the Marine Unit and SECIS, allowing the CO to distance himself from an ongoing investigation.
MD -2.1615 - Major K’Neg, with written order from Gabocx, has S1 confined to the base brig.
- S1 acknowledged receiving and understanding his Article 31 rights under SFUCMJ, SJA present as a witness.
- S1 declined to make a statement and invoked his right to remain silent.
- S1 invoked his right to military representation, JA appointed a Defense Counsel, LTJG Tabatha Collingsworth-Flannigan
MD -2.1830 – Base security surveillance determines S1 checked into his apartment building at MD -1.1800. The base CSO confirms the authenticity of the surveillance records, however adds that severe electromagnetic storms in the area caused multiple brief power outages for both bases and Revel town, limiting the use of backup power systems as well. Therefore, it is inconclusive that S1 was or was not on base at the time of the alleged murder.
MD -1.1300 – SECIS MCRT #7 Special Agent Soditt Riinotor and Probationary Agent Vodal Karrec are assigned to the case and dispatched with all due haste to Relva VII.
MD 0.1600 – RTC Chief again presents their arrest warrant to Camp Vandergrift and stipulates a 48-hour demand for his extradition. After consulting with his JA, Major K’Neg advises he will remand S1 for extradition to SECIS at their discretion.
MD 1.1600 - Soditt, Vodal and Desiree depart Starbase Beta/7 in the UFP Pink Panther en route to Relva VII.
MD 2.0500 - UFP Pink Panther arrives at Relva VII starbase. The trio hops a shuttle to the surface, parking the PP in a secure docking berth.
MD 2.0740 - The three land at the Relva spaceport. Vodal and Desiree depart for the SSOSF while Soditt ‘treks’ onward to visit the Marines at Camp Vandergrift.
MD 2.0830 - Soditt arrives at Camp Vandergrift
MD 2.0845 - Vodal checks in with the senior officers at the Star Fleet SOSSF
MD 2.0855 - Soditt discusses the case with LTCOL Gabocx, his XO and the base JAG officer
MD: 2.0945 - A search of Tarkis & Garfield's quarters turns up very little beyond stale pizza and a single photo of three - Tarkis, Garfield and another female LTMAJ.
