| This stellar cluser, straddling [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Political_Entites#Gorn|Gorn]] and Federation space, lies about 18 light years 'south-east' of [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Member_Units#DEEP_SPACE_13.C2.A0.28http:.2F.2Falt-starfleet-rpg.org.2Ffleets.2Fgoldfleet.2Fds13.2Findex.htm.29|Deep Space 13]]. A joint [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Political_Entites#Gorn_Confederacy|Gorn Confederacy]]-Federation terraforming project was being undertaken in the Briol system (known also as ML-4986), one of the stars in this cluster, until evidence of [[Preservers|Preserver]] technology was found. The resulting scramble for possession of the planet [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Planets_of_Note#Frika|Frika]] and the entire system lead to the [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Military_Actions#Battle_of_Briol-_2417|Briol Campaign]], an operation designed to protect Federation and Gorn Confed scientists while securing the planet- and Preserver technology- from the neighboring Gorn and [[KRIMAXFOR_-_Political_Entites#Romulan_Star_Empire|Romulans]].
