RT0604- CSFO Report
From StarFleet Bureau of Information
Assembled Delegates, Due to a personal matter that needed his immediate attention, the CSFO is unable to make his report at this time. As such, as his Chief of Staff, I am happy to file this report in his stead. Since the last RT, ASR has experienced a net growth of about 10 players. The statistics as of mid-March are as follows: # OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED: 53 - Returning Veterans: 5 - Direct Entry Players: 8 - ALB Graduates: 4 --------------------------------------------------- TOTAL NUMBER OF NEW PLAYERS RETAINED: 17 (32.07%) The total number of players admitted into the game increased from the previous six months by 3, from 14 up to 17. However, our retention percentage actually decreased considerably (down from 39% to 32%), as the number of applications in the past 6 months rose dramatically, from 36 to 53, or about a 50% increase. The largest increase in player numbers occurred with the direct admission trial, with 8 out of the 17 new players joining the game in that manner. Since this particular topic will come up after the elections in 'old business,' there is no further need of discussing it here. 5 former ASR players found their way back to us, matching the number of returning vets from the previous 6 months. All told, we lost a grand total of 7 players in the past 6 months to various reasons. This brings our net growth to 10 players. In addition, 8 more players were recruited from within our existing ranks to fill command vacancies fleet-wide. This has affected our overall health in the following manner: OPENINGS AND FILLED BILLETS BY UNIT (as of 3/21/06) =================================================== UNIT (FLEET) OPENINGS/FILLED BILLETS ----------------------------------------------- LEDA (GREEN) 5 / 4 OK ----------------------------------------------- YAMATO (SILVER) 3 / 7 OK MACRONIN (GREEN) 3 / 7 OK SAM HOUSTON (SAPPHIRE) 3 / 8 OK MARRAKESH (SAPPHIRE) 3 / 11 OK ANDROMEDA (SILVER) 2 / 8 OK NOVA (GOLD) 2 / 9 OK FEARLESS (GOLD) 2 / 9 OK DAEDALUS (GREEN) 2 / 10 OK ----------------------------------------------- SORANUS (SAPPHIRE) 1 / 11 OK AKAGI (SAPPHIRE) 1 / 9 OK AMBERJACK (SAPPHIRE) 1 / 8 OK COVENTRY (GREEN) 1 / 8 OK KRONSTADT (GREEN) 1 / 8 OK KIROV (SILVER) 1 / 9 OK NEBULA (SILVER) 1 / 9 OK YORKTOWN (SILVER) 1 / 9 OK EXCALIBUR (SILVER) 1 / 9 OK TFS (GOLD) 0 / 7 OK KUSANAGI (GOLD) 0 / 10 OK CIRCE (GOLD) 0 / 13 OK DS13 (GOLD) 0 / 17 OK =============================================== TOTAL 34 / 200 =============================================== 13 of our 22 units have one reported opening or less; 17 have 2 reported openings or less. Only one unit- largely because the CO is on long-term Leave because of military obligations- has less than the minimum of 6 active players. At current, we boast 200 filled billets, the first time we've broached the 200-plateau in some time. Reported fleet-specific openings are as follows: GOLD- 4 reported openings (no command openings) * GREEN- 6 reported openings (1 command opening) ^ SAPPHIRE- 10 reported openings (no command openings) SILVER- 9 reported openings (no command openings) *- not including LEDA's vacancies ^- third command position varies across the fleet; it is not always OPS. This is the most stable the fleet has been in some time. However, it comes at a price: command positions are filled by veteran players, thus placing more of a strain on their available time. However, this was taken into account during recruiting, and only players with a single existing billet were recruited. Likewise, the new recruits came from a pool of new or 'recent veteran' players whenever possible. So some care was taken when recruiting for command positions. Please leave some room in these numbers for small changes in the past two weeks. The roster shifts on a weekly basis, and I may not have the absolute latest roster reports from the fleets. But the ones I have are no older than a couple of weeks old. I thank you for your time. **non-delegate mode** Folks, Sean has had a death in his family- a close uncle. Please keep Sean in your thoughts and prayers as he attends to the needs of his family at this time. He'll be back around, but not likely within the next week. That's why I am submitting this instead of him with Karen's blessing. Karen- this was a bit longer than I had planned. **delegate mode** Respectfully Submitted, -- Scott Lusby on behalf of Sean Murphy Bureau of Personnel (BUPERS) -- Delegate, USS CIRCE
