Biographical Notes ======================= A. Chronology, by Age: ----------------------------- 0-18: Primary and Secondary education on Earth. 18-22: Attended Carnegie Mellon University, Engineering 22-25: Attended University of Pennsylvania, Engineering 25-29: Attended Star Fleet Academy 29-Current: Active Duty Star Fleet Service 38: Marriage to Yulie Moffat 42: Death of Spouse, Yulie Wight 48: Transporter accident B. Background Summary: ---------------------- Gregor Wight is best described as a perennial student. He received an undergrad and masters degree in engineering, both in holographic technology, before joining Star Fleet. However, instead of coming in as a Warrant Officer, he chose to attend Star Fleet Academy to receive yet another degree. During that time, it became clear to Star Fleet Engineering that he was one of the fleet's most knowledgeable personnel in the field of holo-technology and was also strong in the associated field of pattern replication. During his first billet as a junior engineer on the USS HALIFAX, Gregor received an additional masters degree by correspondence, furthering his study of replication. Wight's rate of academic advancement declined somewhat when he met, courted and married Yulie Moffat, a junior Science Officer on the USS GAMALIEL, his second billet. They moved together to Earth when he was requested by Star Fleet Engineering to be co-lead of a project to design the next generation of holoships. His next tour of duty, on the USS PROVENCE, was marked by the death of his wife while on an away mission. His concentration and quality of work sharply declined until he submitted to counseling, a process of healing which took months. While onboard the USS GEB, Wight was involved in a transporter accident that permanently changed his body structure into a 10-year old version of himself. This accident was similar to one that occurred on the USS ENTERPRISE-D on stardate 46235.7 in which four crew members of that ship were reverted to child-sized versions of themselves. In Wight's case however, there were two major differences: there was no easily available method to revert Wight to his adult self; and his body has not begun aging again - to this day he remains in the body of a 10-year old. Since the day of the accident, Wight has spent considerable time studying transporter technology in hopes of reversing his condition. As such, he has also become recognized as one of the most knowledgeable minds in the field of transporting in addition to that of holographic and replication skills. C. Personality Summary: ----------------------- Thoughtful and calm. Emotionally mature, marked by occasional bouts of self-deprecating humor and melancholy. Unassuming personality. Driven to learn, but not to lead or seek accolades. ======================================================================= IV. Official Star Fleet Record ============================= A. Recent Fitness Reports ========================== Medical Report: In some respects, Gregor Wight is a perfectly healthy 10-year old Human boy. Aside from that, he's still a mostly normal middle-aged male. Coming to grips with that sort of dichotomy will likely not be easy. LT Wight was caught in a transporter accident that reverted his body to a younger version of himself. A loss of certain rybo-viroxic-nucleic sequences while he was being read into the pattern buffer caused him to be reformed in a pre-pubescent form. Furthermore, a currently unknown phenomenon is keeping new RVN sequences from forming, essentially keeping him from aging. The Medical database lists a similar occurrence several decades ago that was able to be reversed by a method of re-transportation using copies of the patients' adult RVN patterns. However, the unknown factor that is blocking his growth makes attempting such a process extremely risky. Aside from this handicap, LT Wight is as healthy as any typical human boy. I've recommended him for counseling, but aside from that, he is cleared for duty contingent upon his non-adult status and abilities. ~Dr. Wilfred Conti CMO, USS GEB Professional Report: Gregor Wight is clearly a skilled engineer and a voracious learner. As I understand it, not a month goes by that he is not asked to speak at some engineering symposium or conference. He is also a man that exhibits qualities of contentment where it comes to personal advancement, which is fortunate for me since it keeps a friend like Greg in my department instead of leading his own elsewhere...or captaining his own ship for that matter. He could even do that if he put his mind to it. I find myself torn between wanting to keep him here for the benefit of the ship or pushing him out the door for his own benefit and growth in other areas of his life. I, of course, am not referring to growth in the sense of his height. Gregor has flourished in some ways following his accident. His decreased size and strength has caused him to compensate by coming up with all manner of uses for technology to fill in the gaps. It still gets me every time when I see him using his force-field stepstool. There appears to be no end to his inventiveness. ~LT Virgil Constance CEO, USS GEB ======================================================================= VII. Psychological Profiles =========================== Psychological Report: LT Wight has undergone two major traumas in his life, first the death of his wife, and more recently the loss of his adult body. As a psychologist, I honestly can't discern which has had a more profound affect on him but I suspect that the mutual effects complicate each other. The passing of a spouse is one of the highest stress occurrences that an individual can endure, and it took Gregor a long time to come to terms with that loss of intimacy. The transporter accident that left him with the body of a prepubescent has further taken away his adult stature and strength, and doubtlessly affected his relationship with his crewmates. Through it all, he has appeared resilient and good-natured, but I recommend that he undergo psychological testing periodically. ~LT Virginia Tarsus CNS, USS GEB ======================================================================= VIII. Current Recreational Interests ==================================== Swimming Holodeck programming Engineering studies Inventing/tinkering ===============================End bio file============================ ASR Roleplaying: Here's a simplified version of what to expect from Gregor Wight. Anyone familiar with the Next Generation episode "Rascals" will recognize Gregor's condition. He is 53 years old but looks like a little boy. He is a genius when it comes to working on the holodeck and the transporters, but he's very modest and personable, often making jokes about himself.
