The afternoon was drawing to a close. With most of the sports
activities over the FEYNMAN crew had assembled itself into small pockets
of conversation and quiet laughter. For his part Zane chose to unwind
alone. He had a lot to think about and after wandering from group to
group to make sure everyone was relaxing he found himself strolling along
the pebble strewn beach. He stopped near an old log and sifted through
the rocks to find a handful of smooth flat ones. It had been along time
since he tried....His first toss saw the rock plunk unceremoniuosly into
an approaching wave but soon he had reaquired his skill and was closing in
on his alltime record of skips. Part of his mind carefully analyzed wave
frquency, trajectory, the weight of the rock and acceleration but the rest
just thought back to boyhood days and whether or not there were any
holographic water spiders he could try to bomb with bigger rocks. He
smiled at the memory but the smile slowly faded as he watched a rock sink
to the bottom and the captain in him reminded him of the coming unknowns.
[Brige to Captain Zane.]
"Zane here."
[We're leaving Federation space sir.]
"Time?" The captain asked as one of his rocks skipped 7 times
befroe being devoured by a rolling wave.
[16:50 sir]
They were 22 minutes ahead of schedule, he'd have to commend
Koreth and his team. "Very well. Maintain the sensor sweeps and course
and speed. Zane out."
And so it began.

"Captain we're approaching the SERAPIS' location." Jerran
announced from the helm.
"Secure from warp, ahead full impulse."
"Full impulse aye." The FCO replied as his fingers danced across
his board.
Zane spun in his chair to face tactical. "Lt. Allard?"
"Sensors show no other ships in the vicinity. I am picking up a
large debris field at 325 mark 78."
Zane spun back. "Lt. Jenn?"
"No unknown readings. Bringing the DELPHI Array to bear. All
sensor gathering systems online."
"ETA Mr. Jerran?" Commadner Maril asked.
"Seventeen minutes to the edge of the debris field."
"Hold at 1000km." The FO ordered.
"Ok people lets get to work."
<<<NRPG>>>
