The Bea Planetary Defense Force, or PDF, is roughly 200 years behind Star Fleet in temrs of military technology, making them analogous to the technological level of Earth 50 years after Zefram Conchrane's warp flight. This places Bea technology about 50 years BEFORE James Kirk's historic 5-year mission on ENTERPRISE chronicled in the original Star Trek series.
