Persons selected for the grade of the Agent (AGT) are responsible for executing service standard protocols in order to resolve assigned cases under the guidance of the assigned Senior Agent (AG-3) or above.<br>
This billet is the middle grade of the three entry-level Field Agent positions and is regarded as a platform for those who demonstrate professional excellence to move into grades AG-3 and beyond. Agents have an established combination of accomplishments, education and experience with the Service, typically a minimum of 1-2+ years as an Probationary Agent (AG-1).<br>
AGTs are no longer considered ‘rookie’ Agents after demonstrating their newfound job knowledge, closing 80% of their assigned caseloads, and obtaining a passing grade on all quarterly and annual Agent Evaluation Reports.
Significant training pathways to success and career advancement await the newly shielded AG-2s, as they are expected to implement immediate actions with minimal supervision to identify, assess, track, deter and mitigate violations of the Star Fleet Uniform Code of Military Justice (SFUCMJ) and Federation Law as applicable to all service components.<br>
In this capacity, Agents will coordinate efforts among other units and Squads within the assigned Major Case Response Team (MCRT) in order to meet/exceed the criminal investigative goals and objectives of SFSECIS.<br>
This is a competitive applicant-based billet. When a vacancy arises, priority is given to evaluating the potential for career progression among qualified internal candidates first. This billet serves at the pleasure of the DIC.<br>

This section details the functions of the AG-4, while those of the SP-4 are entirely focused on the nature of the technical field of the individual.</b><br>
<b><i>*SFSECIS recognizes the use of force is a critical aspect of law enforcement, and as such, SAs will be required to exercise sound judgment and discretion when determining the appropriate level of force in the apprehension of suspects. The Service follows strict guidelines for the minimal use of force, prioritizing de-escalation techniques and non-lethal alternatives whenever possible. However, in situations where the safety of yourself or others is at risk, the use of lethal force may be necessary as a last resort, in accordance with the Star Fleet Uniform Code of Military Justice shall be authorized as a necessary last resort.</i></b><br>
