-Felony criminal investigations are one of the four core mission areas of the Service. SFSECIS is the investigative entity within Star Fleet and responsible for major criminal investigations involving Star Fleet and SF Marine service members, and affiliated civilian personnel. SFSECIS civilian Field Agents have the authority to investigate criminal acts in accordance with both the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and established criminal laws under the United Federation of Planets when there is a jurisdictional overlap.<br>
