| Born the Middle child and only daughter to Logan and Ilane Gates
| |
| Rourke. Alexa grew up amid two brothers, in a somewhat sheltered home
| |
| life on Venus. Logan was a abrasive and sometimes cocky pilot assigned
| |
| to Space Station Berbar 7, near the Klingon border, when he met his
| |
| wife. Ilane Gates was traveling through the station, on her way back
| |
| to Earth, after a extended conference for the company that she worked.
| |
| After the wedding, the family settled on Earth until Kyle was born,
| |
| then they moved to Venus when Logan was offered a position at a
| |
| Starbase colony in New Vienna, Venus.
| |
|
| |
| Lent to being tom-boyish, despite the Orion in her blood, Alexa worked
| |
| hard to prove herself with her rough brothers as she grew up. When she
| |
| graduated from Albertina High School she decided a career in Starfleet
| |
| was her calling and she enlisted. Her Father understood and
| |
| appreciated her choice, her Mother worried and tried to object as
| |
| often as she could about the matter.
| |
|
| |
| Upon completion of SF Academy, she pondered and eventually chose
| |
| communications as her field of interest. Embarking upon this stage of
| |
| her life, regardless of the continuation of her Mother's objections,
| |
| the young woman found that she had a knack for the field. Embracing
| |
| the needed skills as a linguist and communications officer. She worked
| |
| hard and enrolled in the proper courses that set her on her chosen
| |
| path.
| |
|
| |
| During her final year at the academy, 2410, Alexa tossed herself
| |
| unrelentlessly into her work, doing codebreaking and decrypting work
| |
| for the USS Kyrenia.
| |
|
| |
| During her tenure on the Kyrenia, Alexa's work became her life, as her
| |
| unrelenting ethic, wore her down and she found intergrating into life
| |
| at Starfleet difficult, there were some incidences, that she
| |
| eventually left behind her. Still the results of those situations
| |
| remain on her record.
| |
|
| |
| The middle of 2416, Alexa decided to take a LOA from Starfleet, she
| |
| spent the time on Earth focusing on her future and taking additional
| |
| classes in Communications. When the time came, Alexa returned to
| |
| Starfleet, ready to work.
| |
|
| |
| Her new assignment was the USS Navicula, under the direction of
| |
| Captain Jacob Sterling, the young woman would serve as a Junior
| |
| Communication Analysist. Here, Alexa continued to work hard and while
| |
| she did have a distant tone in her general personality, she still
| |
| could manage a friendly exterior most of the time. l Donovan from her
| |
| life, she used it to do her best, to make that extra effort. Alexia
| |
| would go on to prove her worth in several combat situations while on
| |
| the Navicula and she become a remarkable officer, determined to rise
| |
| up in the ranks.
