Wick's parents were guest workers in the New Republic of South Africa coming | |||
from their native Korea to work in the retail shops the Republic had licensed | |||
within its cities. Wick's father was killed and her mother raped during the anti | |||
goverment riots of 2237. Wick was born in 2238 as a result of that unwanted | |||
encounter. She was immediately placed in a state orphanage, where at the age | |||
of three she was found and adopted by an American couple Chester and Rodalee | |||
Manchester. | |||
Wick grew up outside of the Washington/Baltimore megacity complex and | |||
often visited her adopted father at his place of work, the Starfleet Security School, | |||
Annapolis, Md. Wick enlisted in Starfleet at the age of nineteen. She is adept at | |||
shorthand in four off earth languages, keyboards extremely fast and can keep | |||
electronic files in order in a way Astor cannot. | |||
