ORIGINS: Bruce Paulson: Difference between revisions

The first question many people ask Bruce is why does everyone call him Lucky?  Bruce "Lucky" Paulson was born on July 13th, 2013.  He was assigned to the USS KELVIN on the ship's thirteenth sortie which saw her destruction at the hand of the renegade Nero.  His quick actions helped save 13 crewmen aboard his shuttle (number 13) which was damaged while escaping Nero's attack.  He was married October 13th.  His twin son and daughter were born November 13th at one 1300 hrs local time.  He later graduated 13th in his class at Starfleet Academy.  He was assigned to the USS ODYSSEY and ended up being one of only 13 survivors from the armada destroyed over Vulcan in Nero's attack of 2258.  The USS ODYSSEY, incidentally, was named for the ill fated Apollo 13 command module from Earth.  Captain Paulson's first starship command was the USS REPUBLIC, NCC-1371 (note the 13 in the registry).   

At around five decades old, Bruce "Lucky" Paulson has already had a distinguished career in Starfleet.
