Ensign Kabreigny is an extraordinary individual, sharp, intelligent and a keen sense of fairness. However, he also exhibits a boldness, argumentative demeanor and lack of discipline at times. This evening he engaged in a heated argument with SCPO Banav over interpretation of Star Fleet Regulations, in front of the entire squad no less. While Joko was correct and Chief Banav was not, I cannot have future officers arguing openly with NCOs. He should have followed the chain of command and brought the issue to me to settle. Ensign Kabreigny exhibited great leadership and fortitude today in upholding the Academy’s Honor Code when he alerted his commanding officer that two of his classmates were planning an attempt to cheat on their final exams. It takes great courage to speak up and do the right thing, even when it may feel wrong. It is the decision of myself and the Commandant to place a special commendation in his permanent record for this action along with the presentation of the Star Fleet Achievement Medal.
