OCTOBER 2007 ASR ROUND TABLE AWARDS

From the desk of the CINCSF:
FLAG LEVEL AWARDS
=======================
First of all, I know we don't normally recognize our Flag
level players but this time I'm making the executive decision
and running with it. Since I'm CINCSF you'll all just have to suffer....;)
Bruce
THE DRIVING FORCE AWARD
Mary McNeely (CINCSILVER)- While the majority of the Flag
Council has been plagued by real life problems, Mary has
been doggedly sticking it out and is driving her fleet forward.
She has lead by example, becoming an almost unstoppable posting
machine. Her drive and love of ASR is an example to us all,
while her posting rate is virtually unmatched. My personal
thanks to Mary for her continued commitment to our group.
THE PITCHING IN TO HELP AWARD
Scott Lusby (CINCGOLD), Reginald McKamie (CoS/CSFO)- When
Sean Murphy requested a medical leave there was a big gap
left in his wake, specifically in assigning new players to
the units. Scott and Reginald stepped forward and jumped
right in to help assign people as they came in, even though
both Scott and Reginald had real life problem of their own.
Through their efforts, new players have been steadily coming
and efficiently being sent to the units.
MAN, I WISH I COULD DO THAT AWARD
Ed Bell (SFEXO)- You know all those really wonderful graphic
pictures of our ships that we all enjoy, we can thank Ed for
several of them. New ship designs have been rolling out from
Starfleet Engineering and Ed has been building fully rendered
graphics for them. His hard work has done more than just given
us beautiful ships, it's become a source of advertisement as other
organizations have recognized his work as well. His talent in
graphic design is a marvel, one that I'm thankful we have access too.
OUTSTANDING COMMAND PLAYERS
===========================
Susanne Dubrov (OPS, USS EXCALIBUR)
Susanne has been an energizing force on EXCALIBUR. Her writing
has engaged her fellow writers and given new vision to the unit.
Tim Cooke (CO, USS VALHALLA, XO USS NEBULA)
Tim Cooke has been an excellent command player, always taking
the time to provide necessary support to players, no matter what
his other responsibilities. As XO to a unit he was previously
CO for, he has provided quiet support without continuing to
dominate the command team. His ability to keep a plot moving
and a crew posting together is to be commended.
Jeff Uribe (Fmr OPS USS NEBULA)
Jeff, playing the inmerable Jones', did much to put truth that
one must work to keep up with them. Playing Dionne Jones, Jeff
ensured that the USS NEBULA kept moving along the plots and
nudging the rest of the players to keep up with the fast moving
pace set by his engaging posts. While on sabbatical, his ability
to find ways to contribute will be missed.
Mary McNeely (CO, USS AMBERJACK)
Mary McNeely leads the fleet in developing joint posts, and holds
a key role in keeping the community of Green Fleet alive with her
willingness to work together with other units to foster greater
interaction. Her skill at progressing the storylines and getting
posts from her shipmates makes her an outstanding command player.
Jenna Povey (CO, ORESTES)
Ms. Povey has taken command of a new and fledgling unit and made it
one of GOLD's most active units despite having to endure a change
at the XO slot. This in and of itself is quite an accomplishment;
however, given the fact that she did this with a crew made entirely
of players new to ASR, the achievement is all the more special.
Mark Mosher (CO, TFS)
Mr. Mosher was handed a most difficult job- command of a unique unit
made up of veterans, all with commands of their own, that had all lost
most of its momentum. He has handled this with agility and aplomb,
jumping in with both feet and guiding the unit's momentum in a positive
manner.
OUTSTANDING PLAYERS
===================
David Martens (SCI, USS EXCALIBUR)
Since his arrival, David has jumped in actively both with his
unit and by involving himself with Star Fleet Engineering during
the refit process for EXCALIBUR. His willingness to get involved
has help refine the definition of science facilities in the ship
class. David's willingness to get actively involved in both
role-playing and non-role-playing aspects of the club are an
example to others.
Markku Herd (FCO, USS VALHALLA)
Since his arrival on board the USS VALHALLA, Markku Herd has
been an outstanding player. His creativity, consistant posting,
and grasp of great player character development has made him an
invaluable member of this august crew. His efforts and great posts
are appreciated by all of the crew, especially the command staff.
It is his excellent abilities as a writer and his cooperative play
that makes him an irreplacable part of the team.
Tim Smolen, he's been aboard for years and while he may post
sparingly, he builds an interesting character. He has good memory
for Trek history, which also keeps the command staff in line as he
remembers those tiny dangling threads we try very hard to forget.
Karen Fainges (CMO, USS AMBERJACK)
For continued, regular, exemplary support of the unit storyline
and interaction above and beyond the standard fare. Dr. Mara is
an asset to her unit and Fleet.
Nel Mackenzie (TAC/SEC, USS AMBERJACK)
For continued, regular, exemplary support of the unit storyline
and interaction above and beyond the standard fare. Lt JG V'Harn
is also an asset to her unit and Fleet and we could make use of
another half dozen Cassandra's in the Fleet.
Crystal (COMM, ORESTES)- Crystal is a new player to ASR, and
has immediately made an impact upon ORESTES. Not only has she
worked hard to master the posting formats of ASR (no small task
for new players now that ALB is closed), her writing has been
forward-focused and interactive, always pushing the plot forward
and inviting others into the writing.
Susanne Dubrov (TAC/CSO, DS13)- Over the years, Ms. Dubrov has
been one of the most consistent players in ASR, and her consistency
has been a major factor in keeping DS13 afloat through the absences
of its CO and XO. Her writing continues to push the story forward
while at the same time spending time to develop character and interact
with others. An excellent model for
writers new to ASR.
Sean Speake (ENG, CIRCE)- Mr. Speake is again nominated for his
consistency in posting, his depth of character development, and
his direction of the plot- without him, CIRCE would be completely
stalled. One of ASR's most well-rounded and talented writers.
