SCENE: Bridge<br>
Maril walked behind Lt.(jg) Allard at the
tactical console, making sure
that everything was like Ridaka on the island.
Nothing had really happened since he had
supposedly walked into
Sickbay 33 hours ago, except for a few headaches.
He would have to see Dr.
Glin'kharr about those. It was strange that he
couldn't remember anything
after he had met with Captain Zane and before he
had woken up the next day.
Maril supposed that it was just a one-time
occurrence.
Somewhere out in space
Occurrence...yes, it was a strange
occurrence. Usually, nothing could
resist it. It would have to wait for this ship to
come closer, where its power
would be greater. Then, it would be able to tear
them all apart until it found
what it wanted. And even then, it still might
continue to attack and wreak
revenge upon this creature that had dared to
oppose it.
His mind will relax, yes...then, it will
strike when the metaphor-being's
mind would be least prepared. Nothing would stop
it, nothing....

Holodeck 3<br>
Maril walked onto the sunlit "baseball(?)"
field, preparing for a free
throw fly ball, ot was it a double play goal?
Maril had only played the game
once before, but he had already grasped the
essentials. A certain member of the
team known as the "pitcher" threw the ball to a
member of the opposite team
called the "batter". If the batter hit the ball
to an area less than 45 degrees to the
right or left of forward, it was a "fair ball".
If the ball was hit anywhere else, the
ball was "unfair" and both the batter and pitcher
would be taken to "court"--no,
that was basketball. Maril was already getting
confused.
Well, at least he knew that the pitcher had
to have a strong arm and the
batter had to wave a long stick to hit the ball.
In fact, Lt. Jerran looked like a
good pitcher, having just dunked the Captain with
two balls at the same time in
a strange contraption called a "dunk tank". Was
this also part of baseball?
Maril wondered.
Hopefully, Maril would "get the hang of it"
as the game progressed.
These games always seemed much simpler in real
life than they did when you
thought about the rules.
Maril, seriously wanting to make Commander,
stayed away from the
dunk tank until the game began. By the time he
realized that Zane didn't have
the power to promote him, it was too late.
"Play ball!" someone with a wire mask on his
face called. Here was
another facet of the game, the "umpire". This was
very confusing. Was the
umpire a player? For which team?

So, the fun begins. :)<br>
I think we should have the Redshirts(CO, FO, and
FCO) against the
Yellowshirts(OPS, CSO, and CEO), with the
Blueshirts(CSciO, CMO, and CNS)
divided between the two.
What do you say, the Yellows get Meleah, but we
get Glin'kharr and Lee, since
an android can have absolute precision on pitches?
Of course, this means we'll have to add a few
junior officers to get 9 against 9
(and, unless there are any objections, the pitcher
bats, i.e. no DH). But how
hard could that be? <G>
