USS Constellation

The dedication plaque for the USS Constellation. The ship's motto is "Ad Astra Per Aspera," which translates to "To the Stars through Hardship" or, more loosely, "To the stars through toil."

USS Intrepid

The dedication plaque for the Intrepid. It's motto is "In Mare in Caelo," which translates to "In the sea in heaven." This was the motto of the original USS Intrepid, the World War II wet-navy aircraft carrier.
