13-16: Attended High School at Corpus Christy Finishing School,

16-20: Attended Star Fleet Academy. Picked Medical Profession.
       Completed undergraduate work in physics, biology, mathematics, 
       English, inorganic, organic chemistry and courses in the
       humanities and the social sciences. Volunteer at local hospital
       to gain practical experience in the health profession. Earned 
       her BA Degree. 

20-24: Attended Star Fleet Medical.
       Applicant submitted transcripts, scores from the Medical
       College Admission Test, and letters of recommendation. 
       StarFleet Medical also consider applicants' character,
       personality, leadership qualities, and participation in

B. Background Summary:

Lorena Mendoza forefathers were men of action and means. Their
pioneer spirit from the days of conquistadors, cattle, goldrushes,
and oil, continues to effect the world even in the  modern technology
of warp drive. 

Her forefathers ranged from Kings of Spain, Ambassadors, Presidents,
Cattle and Oil dynasties, Captains in Sea, Air and space, all the way
to having Rear Admirals in the Federation. 

Her forefather, Juan de Oñate by Reynaldo RiveraOñate was born in
the New Spain city of Zacatecas to Spanish colonists. His father was
the conquistador Cristóbal de Oñate. The younger Oñate began his
career as an Indian fighter in the northern frontier region of New
Spain. He married Isabel de Tolosa Cortés Moctezuma, granddaughter of
Hernán Cortés, the conqueror of the Aztec Triple Alliance, and great
granddaughter of the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma Xocoyotzin.

Juan de Oñate founded El Paso, Texas where Lorena Mendoza was born
centuries later to Juan Miguel Enrique Mendoza and Isabela Maria de
Oñate - Mendoza on June 20, 2388. They sold their land to another
family member and moved their growing family to Corpus Christy,
Texas. Her father an Ambassador preferred to keep his growing family
on earth so Lorena was brought up on a very large ranch where she
learned about ranching,, riding and then sent to a finish school to
be a young lady. 

Lorena had been a tomboy as a young girl and preferred to be called
Rennie. She held no silly notions like her sister to want to find a
man, marry and settle down. Rennie loved adventure, excitement and
wanted to see the world. During her summers when she was not on the
ranch she would bribe her father to take her on his trips as a
Starfleet Ambassador. This is were she fell in love with Starfleet
and all its glitter and glory.

Lorena had decided then and there she was going to become an
officer. But she hadn't any idea what area to join in until her
mother became ill and she helped the Doctor nurse her back to health.
That is where she found her calling was in the medical field.

In high school, the Senorita had several suiters but she never fell
in love. She graduated with high honors and then went into Starfleet
Academy where she roomed with Vanessa Hanford. She found a kindred
spirit in Vanessa and they promised to stay in touch. She was Hanford's
maid of honor in her wedding and then both women drifted apart busy
with life. 

After graduating and getting her license her internship and
residency was on the USS NOTTINGHAM and then she was assigned as
Assistant CMO on USS COVENTRY. 

It was on USS COVENTRY that she reunited with her best friend
Vanessa Hanford. The Senorita found a new friendship in Lieutenant
Delbrak Dommo which later escalated into a intimate relationship.
They came to believe that the Cohen Virus may have influenced the
relationship. While on the mission to BEA, Lorena and some of her
fellow drew members where hit by an explosion of radiation. Not too
long after her recovery she discovered she may be permanently
sterilized and not be able to have children. She decided to come to
an understanding with Dommo and they became good friends. He
transferred not too long after this but they still keep in such now
and then.

Lorena Mendoza had a family reunion on SB DELTA. During this stop
over she along with her comrades from USS COVENTRY were reassigned,
Mendoza was assigned to USS FEARLESS.
