NOTES:

The VENTURE-class general-duty frigate is an outgrowth of the tried-and-
true CHARON class.  It is designed as a good, general, multi-purpose
ship that can function independentally for short periods and as part of
a larger ship's escort.

As with all of the latest designs to come off of Star Fleet Engineering's
drafting boards, VENTURE is designed around the new gravity-planing
sublight drive system, giving the little ship umprecedented maneuverability.
She also incorporates the latest upgrades in weaponry and defense, down
to the inclusion of a small point-defense array.

The VENTURE even carries a limited number of point defense electronic
warfare drones, the first dones deployed on a ship of her small size. These
are launched from 2 small bays astride the main shuttle bay.

Due to improvements in structural integrity fields and anti-gravity
generators, the ship is capable of landing. Once settled on level ground,
the spaceframe is designed to support the weight of the ship without
continual application of power.
