Notes:

The EUROPA-class light cruiser was designed with an eye towards exploration
while providing multi-mission capabilities. Essentially, it will replace
the obsolete HIRYU-class in Star Fleet's inventory.

EUROPA incorporates Star Fleet's latest gravity planing sublight drive
systems, making her extremely manueverable in comparison to her light
cruiser brethren. Additionally, EUROPA is heavily armed for a ship of
her class; her upgraded Type XI phaser emitters give her a punch that
not many ships of her size can match.

For defensive purposes, ablative armor in key places- most notably around
the bridge and command-and-control areas- has been added, as has the latest
point defense systems, something the HIRYU did not incorporate.

Creator's Notes:

I used the HIRYU as the starting point for this class. I am not sure if
the way I broke up the phasers works; I originally had 9 banks and 3 torpedo
tubes, but that was approaching heavy cruiser armament, so I scaled back.
