Attached Ships of Starbase Serenity
Version 2.0 (Updated SD 350621)

Introduction

Below are the various support craft permanently attached to Starbase Serenity. There are currently 4 capital support vessels- USS Vigilant, USS Taiyang Shen, USS Fireball, and the USS Daystrom"- as well as several fighter shuttlecraft and a small-but-growing ship repair facility.

These vessels are simply attachments to Starbase Serenity and therefore are considered NPC ships. As such, other than a Flight Operations team and a nominal Commanding Officer, no permanent crew of their own are assigned- their crews are pulled from Starbase Serenity's own crew compliment. Flight Operations Officers for the three attached ships, as well as regular pilots for the fighter shuttlecraft, will eventually be found on the station manifest.

Destroyers

USS Vigilant NCC-87663

Diligent-Class Escort

The Diligent class is one of the smallest starship in the Federation inventory to mount to offensive weapons of a destroyer. As such, the class has nearly unparalleled maneuverabilty for a ship of its rate. This is paid for by a lack of range, cramped crew compartments which do not even afford all personnel with their own bunks, and virtually non-existant scientic research equipment.

USS Taiyang Shen NCC-53084

Tsyklon-Class Surveyor

With its advanced AUGUR sensor system, the Tsyklon-Class vessels are more than capable of supporting Deep Space 13 on any reconnaissance, exploration, or patrol missions.

USS Fireball NCC-87059

Thunderbolt-Class Escort

When one thinks of the Thunderbolt class of ships, they think one thing: firepower. Thunderbolts are extremely heavily armed for their size, and are ideal for short escort missions.

Frigates

USS Daystrom NCC-91154

The Flemming class is perhaps THE smallest starship in the Federation inventory, with a crew compliment of only 2. It is classified as a Scout; however, it cannot really go all that far given its size and lack of provision space. Its primary usage is as an emergency courier- if a message needs to get somewhere fast, and conventional communications are unavailable or impractical, the Flemming class would excel in this role.
