Scene: SB EPSILON---->USS FEYNMAN<br>
"No, no, I just feel like I have been in it for a while now, hard to
get my 'legs' back." The Counsellor lied, unsure how he could explain his
feelings about D-warp to an Admiral when he had yet to even find words for
them for himself.
"Well, get them back once you reach the Feynman because that is
where you are going to be the new head counsellor. Ops will give you docking
bay and departure time so dismissed Ensign, dismissed."
<nowiki>-------------------------------------------------------------</nowiki>
Loren gathered the information he needed to know from a young Lt. in
station ops. Apparently not much had been heard from the FEYNMAN since
their encounter with an alien race. The ship's last coordinates were
known, and it was also known that the ship was in the midst of a very
tense situtaion.
The Isaahi were pretty important to the Federation right now, and they
didn't want to take any chances so they were sending a functional
telepath out to ease the contact situation.
A D-warp shuttle was heading in the direction of the FEYNMAN and Loren
had been ordered aboard it. Lately, d-warp was a mode of travel he
didn't care that much about. But right now, Loren knew he had to put his
personal discomfort aside because there was a ship out there that needed him.
"Sir," stated the cheery Chief Petty Officer from the door to the shuttle
Elseveier, "We're cleared for departure and we have your belongings stowed."
Loren shook off his misgivings about d-warp and clambered into the
shuttle. Apparently, the CPO accompanying him was headed to a colony
a few parsecs away from the FEYNMAN's last coordinates. <nowiki>*At least, I'll
have company on this one*</nowiki> contemplated Loren.
["Shuttle Elseveier, you are cleared for departure"] came the
announcement from station ops.
"This is Chief Petty Officer Burrows. Acknowledged SB EPSILON." Burrows
tapped in the departure sequence while Loren sat back. Shuttle piloting
was not one of Loren's best skills.
The shuttle moved silently through the docking bay doors into open space
where Burrows pointed the shuttle in the right direction and engaged
d-warp. As the shuttle lept into netherspace, Loren prepared himself for
the unexpected.
<nowiki>------------------------------------------</nowiki>
As the Elseveier came out of D-warp, Loren shook his head. <nowiki>*That one was
just as weird as the last one*</nowiki> thought Loren.
Burrows ran a check of the shuttle systems as the Elseveier came to a
relative stop outside of the star system in which the FEYNMAN was
located.
"You alright sir," said Burrows eyeing Loren. He had never seen d-warp
have that kind of effect on anyone before. <nowiki>*This guy is practically
shaking*</nowiki>
Suddenly, a warning bleep came from the sensor console. Loren came out
of his daze as his hands moved over the controls.
"It looks like there is an ship approaching. Ship recognition programs
can't identify it..."
"Whoever they are they're moving in really close," stated Burrows.
Loren eyes seem to glaze for a moment before, "I'm raising the shields
and arming weapons. See if you can contact the FEYNMAN."
A warning klaxon went off a split second before the shuttle rocked from a
weapons discharge from the approaching ship.
Burrows began evasive manuevers while Loren returned fire as best he
could. Unfortunately, the two Starfleet officers were so focused on
combating the first attacking ship, they fail to notice the other come
out from behind a nearby planetoid.
The second ship slammed the shuttle with as much firepower as it could
muster.
The Elseveier ducked under the fire of the first ship while returning
fire to the second hostile. Energy blasts spread across the bow of the
shuttle as it desperately ducked and weaved, but it was overmatched.
"Shields buckling...torpedoes and phasers down..." were the last words
for Burrows as his control console exploded peppering his face with the
fragments.
Loren shielded himself with his arm but to no avail. The blast rendered
him unconscious as well. The world went dim as the Elseveier floated
adrift and Loren saw the two unidentified ships close in...

NRPG: Hi all! Once again, it's a pleasure to uhmm..be aboard...kind
of. Guess what. Help me! So far, I see two options.
The attacking ships were Reavers out for more Federation tech.
1)Loren will be found when the away team from the FEYNMAN raids the
Reaver base.
2)The Reavers didn't jam the shuttle's mayday and the FEYNMAN will break
Of course, someone could have something more original in mind which is
fine by me.
