> She stopped, immediately feeling the pain beginning to go away. She was glad<br>
> that the error they had made was coming in handy. She looked around the<br>
> corridor briefly then turned her eyes back to Zane's. Her voice dropped to<br>
> barely a whisper, "I know your secret wish, and I can make it come true."<br>
> She moved closer to him. "I can make her into anything you want. All it<br>
> takes is the right thought planted in the right place."<br>
><br>
> She reached out and lightly touched his face, "All you have do is give me<br>
> what I want, and it's all yours. Not a the fake .. but the real thing."<br>
Zane stood silently staring at the imposter not knowing what to
say. The decision he faced...but one thing was clear. "If you can read
my thoughts then you know I'd never agree to such...persuasion."
"But you want to." Dee replied firmly.
"I would never agree to it." He reaffrimed, stronger this time.
"You Starfleet are all alike, high moral fibre and all the usual
propaganda. Think of what your passing up."
Zane ignored the subject. "How can you help her."
"Its much easier to do than explain." She smiled.
"Not good enough. Try."
"Its going to have to be. I can't explain it I just do it. And
if I don't do it soon it won't matter. There'll be no saving her."
"You won't let that happen you'd be facing murder charges."
"Based on what? Your word!" She laughed. "Sure your a Starfleet
Captain but you still need real, physical proof and you don't have it and
can't possibly find it."
"I'm sure Dr. Glin'kharr would be able to find what powers you
have and...."
"And by then Krsya would be gone, victim to a very painful death.
Is a runabout worth it?"
It wasn't. "How do I know you'll fulfill your word?"
"You don't." She smiled smugly. "But what choice do you have?"
Zane frowned. *Very little choice.* He thought. *Alright you
win.*
"See, I knew you'd see it my way."
[Tarrant to Zane.]
"Zane here. Welcome back Lieutentant." At least that was one
problem out of the way. The junior officers had all performed incredibly
but Zane was greatly relieved to have some experience up on the bridge.
[Thank you Captain.]
"What is it you need Mr. Koreth?" He asked a little exasperated
due mostly to the smugly smiling Dee standing in front of him.
[Actually sir, orders.]
"Signal the TYPHOON we're heading home and they are to form up
with us. Set course for the edge of the 'sack 1/2 impulse. Ensign Garret
can explain our nav link to the Husnock ship. Have we heard from
Commander Maril lately?"
[No sir.]
"Well I'm sure he's lurking out there somewhere and he'll catch
up. I don't want to press our luck by staying here any longer. Zane
out."
"Now you were saying Captain...." Dee asked innocently.
"If you help Krysa I'll let you go but I can't let you take a
runabout or any other Starfleet vessel. But on EPSILON you can get
transport to anywhere in the galaxy."
"With what I'm offering you..."
"Lets be clear. What I'm asking for is for my operations officer
to be completley healed and for this never to happen again."
"But there is so much more you can have."
"Maybe, but not that way. It would be a lie. Do we have a deal?"
<<<NRPG>>>
Another cliff hanger.;)
Once we get to the edge of the sack we'll start the three way video
conference with all included so we can figure out the best way to get
everyone home past Tremaine and co.
Kristin: Back to you.
Respectfully,<br>
