Ensign Bishop soon found himself walking to another shuttlebay
on the starbase. This was getting somewhat repetitive; he had just had
a shuttle trip to a starbase to meet with an admiral. And now he was
going to do it all over again. At least he had some idea of where he was
going to be assigned. He was to report to Starbase Epsilon this time
around, and that meant Silver Fleet. That was one step closer anyway, so
now he just had to take another step. He saw no point in speculating
further about this, so he quickly made his way to the shuttlebay.
This time it was a shuttle capable of D-Warp, and that was
probably a good thing. Even with a Runabout it would've taken quite a
while to reach Cait. | |||
As he entered the shuttlebay, he saw a Bolian pacing the floor
in front of what appeared to be a D-Warp shuttlecraft. *Oh great* he
thought. The Bolians he had known at the Academy were all obsessed by
talking. Bishop hoped that it wasn't some kind racial trait.
The Bolian hurried toward Bishop when he saw him, "I suppose
you are Ensign Bishop, whom I have been ordered to take to Starbase
Epsilon?" He looked inquiringly at the Ensign.
Bishop sighed quietly, "Yes, I am."
"Good!" the Bolian said in a slightly nervous tone, "Then we can
get started right away. If you'll just come this way."
Bishop sat down in the back of the shuttle as usual, while the
Bolian scurried around like he didn't know what to do next. Finally he
seated himself in front of his computer panels. Shortly thereafter
Bishop felt the shuttle make its way out of the shuttlebay.
During the trip, the Bolian pilot made quite a few attempts to
engage Ensign Bishop in conversation. But he gave up after a while when
he realized that the Ensign had no interest in talking. But the Bolian
talked enough for both of them anyway, so Bishop didn't really have to
do anything. | |||
And luckily enough, the trip to Starbase Epsilon was faster than
Bishop had estimated, and before soon he was walking its corridors
trying to find the CINCSILVER's office. And after consulting the
starbase's computer system, he was on his way.
This time, he was perfectly calm as he approached the office.
But he did sincerely hope that this would be the last time he had to
meet one before being assigned to a ship.
As he reached the office, he entered without pausing.
"Ensign Kevin Bishop reporting as ordered, sir."
Respectfully submitted,<br>

NRPG: Mike, I'm not sure if you need my SF preference sheet or my bio,
so I'll include them here just in case. |
